It does add some cushion, but it moves. I got this to put under a kitchen rug that kept migrating and was really hoping this would stay put. It did not turn out that way at all. This rug pad moves all around the wood floors and ends up bunching up against the bas cabinets. I'd recommend if you want some extra padding, but definitely not if you want it to keep your rugs from slipping around.

This is a great pad. I have hardwood floors and my rugs tend to slip. Makes vacuuming hard. This pad has allowed me to vacume throw carpets in place and work very well. Good quality. Good price!

I got this pad for my hubby to use in his garage office because his office chair was rolling away to easily on the concrete floor. Since it’s not the intended purpose it didn’t work perfectly (it kept bunching up under the wheels) so we ended up purchasing a thin rug to throw over it and that was a great solution! The pad works as it should now and does keep the rug in place without sliding or bunching. Would recommend!

This rug pad does a solid job—it adds a little extra cushion and keeps my area rug from sliding all over the place on top of wall to wall carpet. The rubber side grips carpet well, and the felt side adheres to the rug. That said, I was hoping for more of a “glued-in-place” effect, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking There is a huge improvement and I do have it in a high-traffic area. The rug still shifts a bit over time when the kids and pets maneuver in and around my sectional and coffee table.I do appreciate the generous sizing. I had to cut a big strip off so that it was slightly smaller than the rug, and actually used that extra strip in my son’s room under his area rug that didn’t move nearly as much. For most people, this will work great—if you’re expecting your rug to stay put like it’s nailed down, though, you might still find yourself adjusting it occasionally. Overall, a good product that does what it’s supposed to, just not quite as firmly as I’d hoped!

So I have other brand rug pads, the top picks you would find on searching for its category and they're awful. They don't stay in place and for some reason all of them have an odd chemical smell if you look at those brands recent reviews.This brand TREETONE, rug pad is simply amazing it doesn't have any of those issues above. It has great amount of grip for both the flooring with the hex style rubber backing and the rug grip feels like sandpaper that holds the rug along with it. Great benefit in adding some cushion to the rug you can definitely feel it immediately how much padding it adds when standing on it. Really quality made and customizable through cutting to the size you need.I am planning on grabbing more of these to replace my other brand rug pads. So overall, extremely recommend this rug pad.

This nonstick rug pad does the trick! It adds a ton of cushiness to my rug, taking it from a thin "meh" rug to a more luxurious feeling rug. The padding definitely feels better. The nonstick side does a good job at keep the rug in place, with a scratchy top to hold onto the rug. I think this works fine for low traffic areas without sliding about or off of it, but I applied some rug tape just to be sure everything stayed where I wanted it. Overall very happy with the boost to my cheap rug, would buy again.

Easy to cut with normal scissors. Perfect thickness for the combination of ease of trimming along with improved cushioning. The rug no longer bunches up or slides.
