This was part of the replacement for a basic tripod I bought last year when I got back into amateur photography. I wish I knew then what I know now and purchased this with a better tripod. The adage “Buy nice or buy twice” definitely applies to this. This is a really solid ball head. It does not feel cheap in any way. It locks itself tight when needed, and the variable friction adjustment for the ball swivel is a wonderful feature. It might not be what a professional needs, but is great for an amateur with a reasonable setup, particularly when paired with a GOOD tripod.

Purchased being skeptical and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and materials. Highly recommended...you wont be disapointed. I even purchased a second.

Having been involved with photography over the past 30+ years, I've seen a great deal of change. Technology will advance, that's pretty much guaranteed but along with that so does people's taste. 'Smaller' seems to dominate. On the camera front I have held fast to my preference for DSLRs versus mirrorless. Hence my instant interest in this tripod head. When I pair a prime telephoto with my 5DIII, SOLID support is a must. Anything designed for use with a mirrorless set-up simply can't be considered. This device is ready for any challenge. A Manfrotto 488RC2 is my 'go to' when weight demands are high. Its physical specs somewhat hide capability. In contrast, this Evumo unit hides nothing. The look and feel of this device gives the impression it could handle virtually any set up. The materials used and the build quality only contribute to this.If you are anything like me and appreciate top notch machining to the point where 'work of art' comes to mind, this device will please you for sure.I've included a photo that might help with size comparison versus other available heads. The unit on the left is rated at 8 kg; I personally would not trust it at more than 4 kg. But the real point here is to give perspective. This unit is a true standout.

This heavy duty 55mm Ball head has unlimited features only found on ball heads costing 3-4x the price.. I chose this larger 55mm for the weight capacity, I always like to go bigger than required for that extra margin of error.. Works perfectly with 20+ lb equipment very sturdy, locks up tight with ease, dual 360 degree panning locks, and massive locking knob for the ball head.. Definitely worth the price, looking forward to purchasing another at this amazing price.. Thank you for supporting America and it's Armed Forces!! So great I had to purchase another, unbelievable quality, sturdiness, durability, ease of use, craftsmanship, and attention to detail..

This EVUMO 55mm ball head is very smooth, very easy to operate with long and short lenses, very solid, and for very little money. And then it has a feature that is neither mentioned on the web page nor shown on any of the seller's photos -- a beautifully designed panning clamp! I can imagine that many would find this a pleasant surprise but I did not.I am not interested in videography, nor do I do panorama photography. I specifically searched for a solid and simple photography ball head that would last me a long time. On the face of it, this EVUMO 55 mm head ticked all the boxes. It does not have ball tension fine-tuning, it does not have top panning in quick release clamp that may or may not become loose over time, the bottom panning is truly excellent and the stop-bolt does not bite into any metal part. When I discovered the un-disclosed top panning feature, I simply wanted to replace this panning clamp with a simple clamp form my parts box. Unfortunately, I could not find a way to remove the provided panning clamp from the otherwise very satisfactory ball.(Incidentally: the seller could not offer me any help in replacing the clamp on EVUMO 55 mm head. Instead -- to my delight -- they sent me another 55 mm head from the same address (next-door room number). It has a very different ball clamp (I think it is called C-clamp), and has a non-panning clamp. It was easy to replace that with one of my own clamps.)In summary: I gave this head 5 stars, because it deserves as much. I continue using it because it is so good -- despite my personal dislike of the unnecessary complexity in the provided clamp.
