Not sure if that infrared cover blocks any heat. It’s neat but…This is tall. I wish it had height adjustment. It limits where I can put it on a covered deck. It’s too tall. Especially if you want to feel the heat. Now that I have it assembled I wish I’d just gone for the one that was the floor model with infrared cover. Too much hassle to return it now. Also of note- the heavy base was out of the shipping box. Rolling around in ups van. Box was ripped open both sides. Looks like the base was just tucked in loose and broke the cardboard. The heater itself was well boxed though.Hardly any heat from just a few feet away. Kinda useless at 6’ tall stand. Cord is super short requiring extension.Well live n learn. Not sure where I can use this due to being so tall. If height adjustment I’d have given it 3 stars but sadly it is not.Regret buying it

The unit heat the space well the she-shed well enough but.... It really doesn't wall mount short of cutting the cable and putting a new plug on. The cable is run through the stand and there is NO way to remove it from the post tubes. Second, after two years of intermittent use in the fall/winter in an indoor space away from the elements, the heating element stopped heating. For the $$$$ you would expect it could hang on the wall mounts provided and last more than a couple years of some season occasional use.

Purchased for my home gym. The quality is really good. I did not like that the cord was so short but the company immediately reached out and sent out an extension. This fixed my issue and am very happy with this product. The customer service was excellent and I will be purchasing more from the seller! Great customer service will go a long way!

I bought this product about 3 weeks ago. I had an outdoor party and all my friends complained they could not feel the heat unless they were standing right next to the heater (user error). Mia from customer support contacted me and explained what I was doing wrong, she assisted me into getting the correct heater and setting it up correctly, I am now very happy. I am extremely impressed with the customer support from this company, they are by far the best I have experienced with Amazon. I highly recommend these products.

So, this is labeled as a stand or wall mount. It's on the box, it's in the photos, it COMES with a stand and a wall mount. However, because the cord is threaded through the stand, and cannot be removed due to the plug sizes, it's effectively not a wall mount unit. Which is a shame, because that was my intent.Regardless, I put the thing together to see what it was all about as a stand unit. The base is heavy, like really heavy. It's solid and unlikely to tip, which is nice. Do what the instructions say and take the glass off before you try to mount the unit. I have no idea why they leave the glass so unsecured, but it's very easy to remove, on purpose or on accident. Once I had it mounted, I found the same issue so many have mentioned, there is no way to tighten the hinge and therefore it just droops to a downward angle you cannot control. Now I have an overly tall unit that luckily I can reach the buttons on, because if you ever lose the remote, that's a headache. I will say, it does pump out the heat and has a nice glow compared to the glare of most infrared units. Of course, the glass gets stovetop hot, so maybe wall mounting it would be a bad idea. Now, with the stand, you've only got like 2 feet of cord, and I'm not a huge fan of running that much juice down anything but a heavy duty extension cord (the same reason I didn't cut the plug off and splice it back in, using space heaters wrong is a great way to find out how good your home insurance is).TL;DR - a heavy, well-built unit that you are forced to mount on a monster stand you have to place right next to an outlet and use with a remote you can never lose. Five stars if that's what fits for you, but otherwise it's a gargantuan pain.

This was replacing another patio heater that got damaged from our movers (who get to pay damages by weight, so I think they reimbursed $1.00 for it. :( ) That heater really didn't seem to get the area close by very warm. This heater is definitely better. But it's not a fantastic super heater that really warms the whole area. In fact, I have to be sitting in the closest chair (almost directly under the direction of the heat) to feel warmth. My husband sits in the next chair-- he feels it, but not a lot. When we've switched chairs, I can't feel it really. Two things about this I don't like: You cannot adjust direction, even though it seems as if I should be able to. The head will move up and down if I move it up and down, but it will only stay in the down position. Directions on this are a teeny bit confusing, since it uses the term "adjust". There is no adjustment. It's just one direction, and that direction is about 45 degrees from the pole. That's okay, not a real problem, but worth mentioning if you think it's multi-directional.Second thing is it really isn't going to work when it's 30 degrees outside. I FEEL warmth when I'm very close to it, but it's not enough warmth to feel totally warmed up. Its just a little bit warmer than it would be without the heater. So, I'm really not even sure this is a worthwhile item for me. At 50 degrees, great, it's a little warmer, but so is a heavy coat. At 30 degrees outside, it's not warm enough to really do anything at all. It doesn't make a really cold day or night any warmer and will never seem to change the temp enough to not need a coat when I'd normally need one.Honestly, I may return. I don't know.I've very impressed with the base. The thing is totally solid. It's very heavy duty and I don't foresee the wind blowing this down. Possible, but very unlikely.Remote works well.Instructions for pole mounting weren't clear. I initially used the L-shaped piece and then decided it wasn't necessary for pole mounting, so now the heater is mounted directly to the pole without the L shaped piece which is necessary for wall mounting.
