Gave this filter a year. It started out fine. But eventually, just like the normal filters, it plugged up (backpressure keeps the machine from even outputting water). It's hard to get the filter out, because the little tab is to little for my fingers. Once I did get it out, I tried soaking it in a variety of things, like white vinegar for a day, etc. I tried pins and needles to reopen the holes, etc. I could get it SEMI-working again, but not for very long. I'm going back to the original filters, because they didn't fail for what ?3 years? Open to suggestions on an entirely new machine, but this one still works.UPDATE: 8/31/24: I bought a 2nd one, and it also plugs up, so let me summarize the issues:1. It plugs up quickly. There's a comment by a lady who dissassemles it and washe EACH TIME with dish detergent and a tooth brush. That doesn't work either, but what can work is keeping a stainless steel pin around and after you do all that, sticking the pin in the bottom bucket from both directions until you fell it come through.2. Because it has an extra layer of metal filter, it holds less grounds, making the espresso weaker/diluted.3. It consistently sticks in the machine even when you twist off the handle. Wait until things cool off before you pry it out! But you aren't making multiple cups of espresso quickly...DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER!

I had to replace the one that came with our machine because there were coffee grains trapped between the filter's layers. We're getting another since this one solves the problem. Not a problem for me, but my husband finds it difficult to take apart the layers since his fingers are wider, and that's why we now keep needle-nose pliers with our coffee supplies.

Lost my my 2-cup espresso filter for my Delonghi combination coffee maker. Note to self - be careful when tamping out the used grounds in your kitchen trash can! Got the item quick and at a reasonable price. High quality and fit perfect. Now my mornings are adequately caffeinated once again!
