Definately not as heavy or solid as the original filter. Worst part was the seals were not on the filter and no instructions to locate those tiny o rings floating freely in in box and make sure to apply before installation. We learned the hard way as the fridge flooded and ruined our 100 year old wood floors as we installed the filter, ran the 4 gallons, then left home. All of our food in fridge was ruined by water as well. Sometimes saving $ isn't worth in when is marketed as "same" but no instruction of additional step is provided. Expensive lesson learned.
