I dipped my toes in gardening last year only to have it overgrown by mint (used a planter this time). I used this to dig up all my plants and start over this year. I was able to dig out most of my mint, which was spreading like a plague, while salvaging the soil. This year, we were able to have a more well-rounded garden. Maybe next year, I'll read up on how to actually grow a decent vegetable garden. lol!

I first went to a local hardware store where they had these but they were flimsy plastic. I purchased this one and it is stainless steel, and works great. I had a lot of weeds in my garden but using the hoe end of the tool, I "scraped" the top of the soil and easily removed the weeds in a few minutes. I recommend this item.

Up until one prong broke off after first time using it, it was great. Both sides are sharp and beaks up ground well. I was digging out blackberry root balls in hard ground with it. Wished it was sturdier.
