I'm a professional musician. I bought these for my one-year-old son, who likes listening to music and bopping along. He enjoys the sounds of each, and though they are smaller than professional shaker eggs, they are still too big to fit in his mouth. They are just the right size for his grasp.The different fillings is fun to experiment with, but the blue egg is very quiet. I'm not sure what the filling is — corn flour? Millet? Compared to the other eggs it is very soft and not as fun to shake (he actually avoids that one). But as a set this is a great buy.

I purchased these to use in my music studio. They're slightly smaller than standard egg shakers, but still have a strong sound to them (or the sound can be dampened by holding more of the shaker within your hand). The seam where the two parts of the plastic egg are fused together looks to be strong so I don't anticipate them being easily broken with extended use. Overall, I'm happy with these egg shakers!
