Long gone are the days where you notch the door or mark the wall. Thats if you can keep your kid still enough to even do this. And dont even think about trying to get a tape measure out. Bleh. This is a waste of money in our opinion. It comes in CM and to change it you have to sign up with another app on your phone. I hate that everything requires a login. What happened to information being stored on a phone? I'd rather just have an app that tracks and not have to create a new account for everything.Besides that, when measuring as the pictures show, it doesn't work. It just errors out. It beeps three times and says "Err"So to make it work you have to have your child stand on the wall, then put the rocketship above their head, then have them move, and then press the measurement button. That is no different than putting your finger above their head and using a tape measure.Plus, even if it did work like they show in the pictures, the button is on the side with the measurement tool so you would have to somehow reach the button that is now in-between your child's head and the rocket, most likely causing your measurement to change and then you also can't see the measurement until your child moves. They need to switch the button and display to the opposite side and make the rocket extend further past the head, otherwise you are stuck doing the same thing as with a tape measure. This was a total waste of money!

EILISON Handheld Digital Height Measuring Device Ultrasonic Measuring Instrument with App Sync, Portable Adjustable Stadiometer for Kids and Adults, Accurate from 30cm to 200cm with LED Displayyeah so measuring height is now a fun game. i can see that people with kids would probably like this. upon opening the box the first thing that occurred to me is the button and display are on the same side as the depth array. i was like well this is gonna be ackward. how exactly do you simultaneously put this on the head and press the button? you dont. lean against the wall, put the rocket perpendicular to the wall with the flat part resting on their head. have them move. do not move the rocket. press the button hear a single beep then review the data. i guess i was thinking this would work differently [maybe because the first two pictures in the listing do show the beam working while on the head] it is not until the 5th picture in the listing do we see that you must move the measuree. so that is ackward. this also works with an app but i did not test this functionality. its the same basic principal as a distance measure a contractor might use, but applied in a novel way. so thats pretty cool. i think the pictures lead one to believe that meaurement is done simultaneously while the person being measured is in position underneath the rocket--this is not the case. i think the cenitmeter scale is probably better than the imperial. so for instance measuring above my desk i got this: 1' 6"9. a different measurement to the floor yields this: 3' 2"8. i think this last number is a decimal so the first measurement would be 18.9". the second measurement would be 38.8". this is a little unusual for imperial users. as we typically utilize fractions. if marking in a childs diary or whatever parents do maybe that is irrelevant as they are looking for the change between measurements over time. and using a decimal method probably doesnt matter unless you are building something and need a proper standard. nonetheless, its a little weird. it looks like in the app it will graph a trend and that is why i think this will make a nice gift. its weird, unneccessary and a little silly. but isnt that the exact definition of parenthood? isnt it, though?

This is super easy to use with great functionality. Easy enough for the kids to use. The measurements are extremely accurate. Great product!
