I usually carry a couple of emergency blankets in my emergency car kit. I am now replacing those with with This multi purpose emergency tent. Its larger size and thicker material makes it much more versatile and durable compared to the mylar blankets. Keeping this in the back of the car, I can see using it for many more things than I typically would use the mylar blankets for.I like that this is also much more reusable than the mylar blankets too. Every emergency blankets that I have used and had the intention of fiolding up and reusing, never happened. It never folds up as small and there is never a place or way to store the used blanket.

It's simple yet effective design allows it to be used several ways. A full body wrap, a tent, Being 5"9 the way I tried it out was angling the paracord off a tree open on one end closed on the other with closed end sealed off with earth and debris & pointed into the wind. This gave me a good balance of shelter and warmth with no wind whipping through. This is a single use shelter but if you want something lightweight for emergencies then this is a good option.

I’m writing this review from inside the tent right now.For what it is and the cost, I’d recommend this, perhaps adding a bivvy as well.I set this up in my living room just to test it for the review and it only took a few minutes, mostly because I don’t have trees in my living room to anchor too.Still, the rope provided was long enough to improvise . It’s not as good as 550 parachute but it does the job.The tent easily fits me with my arms outstretched, and I’m about 5’10”.While there are no flaps this means you have room to improvise them if needed and fold the tent over itself. Trying that now…… it works but its a tight fit height wise. It's pretty warm in here, so that’s good. I haven’t tested it outside but it will help hold in heat. The weather is currently going to be warmer than my house for the next few months so this environment is as cold as I can get for now.It also does fit two people, pretty easily. So why did it only give it 4 stars and not 5 stars?Cost. It’s two Mylar blankets taped together and costs way more than that would cost you.

Sorry “Survivor” T.V. series fans – fire is not first! Knowledgeable survivalists will tell you that your number one survival priority is shelter. This 7.8-ounce (220g) mylar tube tent has TONS of value when fighting against exposure and hypothermia! While it’s paper thin reflective mylar (i.e. “space blanket” material) and requires extreme care when being deployed to function well, it can absolutely save your life. If you’re new to survival preps, keep in mind this is not a multi-use camping tent – it’s a last line of life defense emergency shelter! Carry this in your hiking day bag and add immensely to your own on-trail safety and security. Keep it in your car for any unexpected stranding situations (it doubles as a large sleeping bag). I strongly suggest adding some duct tape to the draw string/cam lock nylon carry bag that’s provided for temporary repairs of small accidental tears. I personally find little value in the weak whistle that’s provided, but even it might offer limited improvement over shouting for help!My photo shows sizing comparison to U.S. Dollar Bill.I hope my comments and photo have been beneficial in your considerations.

This emergency survival tent is a great addition to my camping and emergency kit. It’s lightweight and easy to set up, making it ideal for unexpected situations. The material is durable and provides decent protection from the elements, and the bright orange color makes it easy to spot. It’s compact enough to carry without taking up much space, which is important for outdoor adventures. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable emergency shelter.
