This holds tightly to the window holes the device attached to it well and adjust easily, but maintains the position

It did not help that this product came without any instructions at all, because I found a couple of aspects puzzling. I’ll start there. If you attach the window mount to the top of a car window, the lettering is upside down. I suppose that does not impede functionality, but it does seem odd. Odder still was how the window mount attached to the pan and tilt mechanism. There is a non-adjustable screw protruding through the base of the window mount, and you screw the foot of the pan and tilt head down onto it. Everything is fixed in place, so it aligns however it aligns. In this case mine was not aligned in what I would call a square or true way. In the end I took the head apart, and was then able to get a large wrench on the foot and torque it down more without breaking anything. By doing so I ended up with a forty-five degree variation from what I thought normal (and the corners of the foot poked over the edges of the window mount). But at least it finally looked even, and it was solid. I then went back and looked at the product webpage photos, and their example looked just like mine: upside down lettering and forty-five degree junction.Other than that, I generally like the product. It is almost all metal, save for the rubber pads on the clamp. In a world of plastic I really appreciate that. Internal movements are controlled by friction, and there is grease inside. I thought it moved relatively well. The coating on the aluminum is nicely dull and non-reflective (which I take as a good thing), but it is easily scratched (a bad thing). I tried to attach a couple of ARCA-style camera mounting plate, and encountered no problems with them at all. My final observation regards cost and value. When I got mine the product was selling for about seventy dollars. That seems too pricey to me.So in the end it is generally a good product, and in some ways very good. But it does come with its puzzlements too. Hard to score, but I’ll go with a three based on value and oddities. However, for some people it may work out well. I don’t like to travel with a tripod because of the weight and size. But this item could sub for a tripod in some cases, and at a fraction of the weight and size.

I wanted to show more on this one from different angles. I would say you can move this unit in a million or more ways. Means you can put your camera or lights in a million ways. Plus this one has a window slash table mount and can still be used on a tripod too. I also found where the large screw must fit if needed in pic 3. Pic 4 is just a few ways that you can put this wonderful set for your camera to work. I give this one 5 plus as it is something that will outlive you and me. I do hope this help as it is quality.

It's been handy to have this for those car tours of reserves, to be able to spot things without fumbling a half dozen things while also trying to drive and pay attention to your surroundings. The rubber on the clamp side keeps from damaging your window, and really so long as you don't rock the mounted device too hard, you're absolutely not breaking a car window with this.

My son is an avid hunter (for food only, not sport) and so he loves every new gadget I give him. He found a way to mount this in the hunting blind so that he doesn’t have to give up his hands when he’s shooting just to hold up binoculars.Solidly built, easy to use. He loves it.SPECIAL NOTE: As an approved Amazon Vine member with Gold status, I am trusted to select items for review (sometimes from a list of almost 130,000 options). I am a photographer and frequently find myself in the car shooting without a tripod with longer lens so this seemed like it might fill a need. Once I got the mount I realized i'd be able to use it in multiple ways where a tripod wasn't practical. For instance when doing product photography in my studio I often find I want a stabilized odd angled shot and now I can have a ton more flexibility as I can mount a camera on any of the framework around my product shoot station. Love that!Ok here's my one complaint. When you put the top part of the mount together with the bottom part, the alignment is not pretty. Basically you screw it in until its tight and if the square shaped top part doesn't align neatly with the rectangular bottom part you end up looking like mine, see the pic. Its fine, just kind of lame.

Mounting on thin surfaces such as glass is tricky, shifting or sudden movements, can snap or damage the hold. This mount seems to make it easier to mount a complex rig of camera or mobile device to a window edge and keep the gear safe and easy to capture images or video. Recommended for ease of use.
