Before installation: Test the gate opener by plugging it into a power source and pressing the remote. Press the opening button, the output gear rotates, then press the stop button, the output gear stops rotating. Finally, press the closing button, the output gear rotates to the opposite direction. This will give you an understanding of the way in which the opener will move the gate.

Nothing like a reliable gate opener for the compound. I was in the market for something that could operate using solar since my entire property is run on solar and that didn't take too much to maintain as I have to maintain everything out on my property.I was able to assemble and install this without any assistance, this is a floor Mount model and they provide just about everything you need for the installation although I swapped out all the hardware for my own.My gate is about a thousand pounds and it operates smoothly without any issues. I'll update after winter to see if it's still going strong and can deal with the elements but it's looking good so far. This is my second one of these Gate openers except this one is a bit faster than the original and has infrared sensors which is a nice touch. I purchased a GT1800DC (a little larger than the 1100DC) in August 2022 and I need a replacement control board due to a nearby lightning strike. The gate opener was working fine and I don’t blame the company for lightning damage but they are out of stock of the control board and I can’t even get a return email to give me an idea when they will have a replacement board. Please note that the 1100DC unit uses the same control board. No parts and no communication. I am not happy

Overall, i am pleased with this gate opener. Our previous gate opener started slowing down about a year ago and finally quit last month. This gate opener was easy to install and required nothing special to hook it up to out existing system. this gate opener is a little over sized but in my mind that means it will last longer as it is not getting stressed. I am pleased and I would buy it again. 5 STARS

I'm in the process of adding a gravel storage pad for my RV at the end of the driveway. Our HOA "prefers" boats and RVs to be stored behind a fence so we are adding one to comply. This opener is the perfect addition for a space saving gate.
