The item is light weight, seems sturdy, and the handle is nice and large making it easy to hold onto. But, I can't figure out how the heck it works. I assume it must, since others said it works great. Maybe a video with the item would be helpful?

This is my first time having a nice fish hook remover such as this one and I have to say I wish I would have got one sooner. This was designed so well and the craftmanship on point. I love the width and length of the handle it gives you so much control when trying to get the hook out of a very excited moving fish. This holds so well with movement and long enough your knuckles are not rubbing on the mouth of the fish. This design is original but with this size set up its amazing. I am able to literally put anywhere in my fishing gear, car, tacklebox I even have a small clip I use to keep on my belt for easy quick access. The price is very fair and well worth it. I would highly recommend to any of my fishing buddies new or pro!

This is a well made, large tool. The one-piece shaft and remover hook is approximately 3/16" stainless steel rod, not likely to bend even with large fish. The 7/8" x 5" aluminum T-handle is large enough for a firm grip and is fastened securely to the shaft. The 10 1/4" shaft enables the user to keep hands away from toothy jaws. This is a strong, large tool for large, strong fish.

Works as intended but has an extra dip that the fish gets caught on some times and its a little longer than needed but works well

This tool is quite large and feels solid! The sizable handle makes it easy and comfortable to hold. This tool did not come with any instructions inside or on the outside of the box. Fortunately, I ordered this as a gift for my husband’s birthday so it’s no big deal to pull up the listing for instructions. I feel that if I were giving this as a gift to anyone else, however, that instructions included inside or on the box would be helpful for someone who may not be familiar with this type of tool. Otherwise, I do feel that this hook remover tool would make a great gift or stocking stuffer for anyone who likes to fish! My husband was really excited about it and has never used one before but said it would come in handy with removing hooks from larger fish. He hasn’t been fishing since I gave it to him, but he is hoping to have an opportunity to use it next time he goes fishing. We don’t live near saltwater, only freshwater, but he does catch some larger fish on occasion. I think this tool is a fantastic value for something that’s this large and nice quality, and I would recommend it!

I had purchased a set similar to this for a little more cost, figuring having two would be better. After comparing the two, this one just felt better in the hand, the larger handle made a difference. I was able to use this on a small stingray, easily removing the hook. I first tried to push the hook down but couldn't get it to come out, so then I used the stingrays weight and pulled it out. It performed as it was made to do, looking forward to using it again for the fish I don't want to get my fingers to close too. The quality did seem better then the others, at least in the handle material. If you can tell by the pictures, this was shorter and the rod isn't as thick but does the job.
