For the low cost and ease of installation, I'd say these were worth every penny. They don't come with instructions, but you can find plenty of information within the reviews for this product. I was looking for a heavier sound from my Fender Strat and don't have a ton of money, so I jumped at the chance to try this pickup. I'm not disappointed in the least.

Wow, for that price, you get quite something...Warning: Mine showed up with NO instructions or wiring color code. After doing some digging, it seems to be wired just like a Seymore Duncan Hotrail. So I installed it that way, and boy is it nicer than I expected.I've had ceramic rails in the past, and while they weren't too much my style (tone wise), I can see their place. So when I decided to build a new guitar, I wanted something I could get some grittier tones out of but still keep a bit of "clean" tone behind it (like a good clear distortion, for lack of a better description). Figured for $20, I'd roll the dice on an AlnicoV blade rail (to see if it's cleaner than the Ceramics), and yes. It most certainly is.I used the 10k version and put it in the bridge of a new strat build and it's great. Highly recommended (especially for that price).

I purchased this to upgrade a Yamaha pacific and it exceeded my expectations. I’ve owned a number of high end guitars and wasn’t expecting too much compared to something 5x the price but this pickup sounds great regardless of price. I have it wired up to a push/push volume knob to split it for a single coil sound and very happy with the results.

I've been down the deep hole of pickups. I've got a full drawer of pickups from chasing tone. It boils down to magnets, number of turns and wire gauge. Not to mention consistent vs scatter wound. I was looking at a humbucker for my strat and decided to try this alnico rail pickup. I wanted something in the 8k output to get close to PAF output. I decided to try this one rated at 9k to 10k. It measured 8.8k and 8.5 in circuit. After adjusting the height it's close to the Duncan 59 I have in the bridge of another strat style guitar. It's a tad darker but anyone in audience would not know that I paid $18 rather than $100.All in all it's a good value. Yea, I'd rather buy american. Maybe if we get tarrifs that will make the decision for american made. Also look at the wiring diagram posted in a review. Green is ground and black is hot. Red and white soldered together but can be used for series and splitting. It came wrapped in foil like a brick of hash from the 80s. Overall good value. I order the jazz bass pickups to try them as well.

We added to the bridge position of a DIY stratenstein alongside SD Duckbusters in middle and neck,as we rarely use anything but 4 and 5 settings on a 5-way switch. Not SD performance but it added a useable vibe to the 1,2,3 positions. Convinced us to purchase an SD L'il JB or similar blade-style to add to that bridge position. A definite upgrade to stock import pups and the Alnico 5 tone is a keeper for the pricepoint. Worth the $.

These pickups handle everything from country to metal nicely. Would have no problem buying these again. Impossible to tell the difference between these and high end brands.

It's a nice looking pickup, wiring is is nice, it sounds a little bit warmer than I thought it would, which is actually better, it's not that hot but it's not not loud either... I think it's pretty good for the price, I put it in the middle position of my stratI just have to roll off some of the base and crank up the trouble a little bit and then it sounds really good again for the amount of money you're paying because you could pay a couple of hundred dollars for a really good rail pickup so if you're broke like me and have no money and you're a poor musician this is a good choice

The wiring of my pickup didn’t match the item description. I was able to find a diagram on another site. The single wire will be the hot wire, the bare wire will be connected to another color (mine was green) and these are the ground. The other colored wires (red and white on mine) were for the coil split (make these ground out using a switch to get a single coil sound; just tape them up if you only intend to use the hot rail as a Humbucker). Overall, happy with this pickup. Just had to play with the angle to try to get it through the pick guard. It eventually went through no problem on a Sire S7 and the cream color matches the other pickups quite well (pretty close to perfect).

I used these both as middle and neck pickups in my neon yellow partscaster build (which has turned out to be my best build so far) and after some initial hesitation due to the pickup not fitting the way I wanted, I'm glad I stuck with them. The black neck pickup with the output of 7-8k is quiet, the bridge pickup in the middle position mixed with either bridge or neck gives a very distinct tone. The pickups are very easy to install, green wire being hot on the Alnico 5 dual coils. The performance and quality for the small putative is well worth it!

Not much to dislike. I replaced the bridge single coil on my strat because I wanted more bite out of it, but not to overpower the other two single coils. Was thinking of getting the higher output one, but this one does the trick! I can still touch the metal side of music and not sound thin. Sounds great for everything else as well.
