I didn't know something like this existed! When I saw it and read the description I was skeptical. Boy was I proven wrong! My husband teases me that I like room temperature food because I may not finish everything in one sitting, so I sometimes come back to it a little later. Now, I come back to a warm plate of food!We ordered out and it kept the food warm (plastic container)! Actually, it made it HOT when I turned it to the max temperature to test it out. My storage containers are the old school Tupperware and glass. I haven't been brave enough to put my Tupperware on the warming mat but I have no hesitation to putting my glass or takeout containers. I actually reheated leftovers with the mat (again, glass container). It worked well because I was working in my home office and it was comfortably warmed when I got up (around an hour later).I kept this plugged in for around 7+hrs with no issue. Well, actually the display with the actual degrees got steamed up. It went away once it cooled down and it didn't happen after my last use. Another highlight is that it sits on 'feet' so it doesn't actually touch the surface its laid on. I wiped it down with a damp kitchen towel, re-rolled it and put it up. Good to go!I love this thing; it is AH-MAZING and I can't recommend it enough.

This FAN HOME Food Warming Mat, Upgrade Electric Warming Tray - 7 Temperature Settings and 6 Hours Timer, Rapid Full Surface Heating came in at the perfect time as we had a family potluck last night at a friend's house. This is one of two warming mats that we brought to the party and my wife was happy that her cookings plus others stayed warm. We liked the 7 temperature choices although primarily used the 176 degree setting to keep the food warm--just the right temperature for my wife's liking. She also liked the touch controls on it to power it on and temperature adjustment. For me, I really like that it's pretty compact when we roll it up to store it away.At $35.99 when we ordered it, it's an excellent value considering the price and great functionality for our parties.

I really love this mat! It's my second one and I like this one better than my first.Worked great for build your own taco night! I had all my hot food staying hot on it, while my cool food was all around it. The mat itself is warm, I kept it at 158 because I know how hot these can get. The 212 setting would be great for soups, in my opinion. Everything stayed nice and warm the whole night. The raised feet kept my counter from getting too hot (those with stone, this is something to be mindful of) and it's super easy to wipe down, roll up and put away.Love this kitchen tool!

This silicone warming tray gets hot very fast and up to a setting of 212 deg. That is quite intense. It is powered by your standard AC two prong outlet, has temp control buttons, a timer, and a control lockout button. I like the silicone foot pegs all over the bottom as it minimizes the hot tray from making your table or countertop hot too. The the top surface is only large enough for two standard size dinner plates (10.5” each). It rolls up nicely and has two straps and a storage bag.Overall this does its job of warming up plates and food but I wish it was large enough for 4 dinner plates and it was lighter. It is quite heavy with all the circuits, thick silicone and heating coils. But since it is AC and not battery powered it is more for home use only. This is technically 4.5 stars, but since there is no half star here it rounds up to 5.

We first saw a warming mat like this at my sister's house two weeks ago -- oohs and ahhs all around. When I saw it come up for review, I knew I needed to try and test it!!This is a very handsome and functional appliance for hospitality. This version is a nice Admiral Blue, matching a ton of fashionable kitchen colors from the past few years. The item rolls up for easy transport, plugs into a standard two-prong socket (not grounded), and heats from 104-212°, with several options for timers and child locks. The entire mat rests on little silicone feet arrayed across the back, which keeps air flow under the mat, and heat away from the counter. Tasteful details abound.I tested this with a 9x13 roasting pan and about a half an inch of water, uncovered. Two different thermometers were used to establish the mat’s ability to keep water warm, fighting evaporation the whole time. First I tested the timer, and the 1 Hour setting lasted almost exactly one hour. There is no beep to communicate when the mat shuts off, so you won’t know by sound. The LED that shows temp or status will never shut off, so when it times out, if you’re glancing at it from across a crowded party, you may be fooled into thinking it was still on. Just a small thing to note.Within the first hour, my 140° tap water cooled to the low 90’s while the mat was set to 104°, and stopped around 85°, eventually. I stepped up the temperature on the mat several times, and watched as the mat brought the water back up to temp. At 212° on the mat setting, it was hot enough to bring the water up to about 130°. The contact between the mat and roasting pan isn’t 100%, and, again, water was cooling by evaporating off the top. But it was impressive to see it bring the water temp back up.212° is very hot, but if you quickly tap the mat, it’s hot without significant pain or burns. Additionally, the counter underneath was temping at 95-100° for most of the test time. The heating elements really do keep the heat exactly where you want it. I would use this for casseroles, warm appetizers, baked goods that are better warm (PIES! BROWNIES!) and any kind of “volcano” cake I might be bringing to the table. I keep thinking of things I would want to use this for.One additional note: At 212°, we saw some condensation inside the LED compartment, some bit of not-terrible odor, and a little bit of deformation around heating elements. I would not say the silicone is melting, but it deforms just a bit when hot. I would hazard a guess that the control panel shouldn’t get as hot as it did, but only for the protection of the electric board and parts within. As with any Vine review, this was a free product for an honest review. I would definitely pay $35 based on this review. There are just so many ways I am going to use this warming mat!
