I have really large calves. Like, the kind that were manufactured in East Germany in the 1980s. My large calves are also really tight and prone to injury from running. Those two things together mean that I needed to find a sleeve that would keep my calves supported and warm, but that would also fit over my enormous barrel of a lower leg. And these do those things! I am pleasantly surprised that they fit and are not painfully tight, and they provide enough support that I haven't had as much pain while running. The only thing I'd say is that I wouldn't quite call them compression sleeves. They're the right tightness for me but I think for people with normal-sized calves, they wouldn't feel very tight. There would be enough room for shin guards and probably a sandwich to snack on half time. But for me, they're perfect.

I am not an athlete, but I wear compression socks for leg vein issues and I'm fairly knowledgeable about compression. These have a fairly high degree of compression, which is very good for the price. However, they do run sort of small. I can't see a man trying to put this on, I think they would be just too small. They are well-made and the color choices are great. So if you are looking for decent compression in a leg sleeve for small/medium calves, these would be worth a try.
