Small compact emergency radio purchased 2 years ago. Just recently (2 years later) unpackaged it to test the radios operation and capabilities. Nice looking unit and very durable but unfortunately it was discovered the AM portion of the radio did not work. Upon contacting FosPower customer service/support website, their customer service was incredible. The intent was simply reporting that the AM station did not work. The WB (Weather Band) and FM did work well along with all other features. Customer service immediately asked for my address to send me a replacement without having to send back the original. Could not ask for a more understand and helpful group of service representatives supporting a very good company. Highly recommend!

Perfect for an emergency. Crank power to keep up with news either FM or AM. A plug to charge your phone. I have an Android and the plug fits. Not sure if so for an I-phone. Light is very powerful and has an SOS button, that is very loud, which activates the light alternating between on and off in case you are under debris. Get this!!

This review will go over the pros and cons of the FosPower 4000 versus the Raynic 5000. Both are great units with a few key pros/cons for each that will determine which one you pick as your device. They cost virtually the same:First the Pros of the FosPower4000- Build quality is top notch - it just feels solid without being heavy at all- The dynamo for the hand charger secured nicely and is easily retreivable- The bright to dimmer flashlight options are excellent and more versatile- The carabiner that is included is top notch- Limited LIFETIME Warranty (wow!)- Rechargeable battery easily accessible for replacement if necessaryThe Cons of the FosPower4000 - implying 4000 mAh battery- Only 2 ways to charge it; USB and solar; USB cable included but no plug- The manual tuning dial buttons are not the best way to go when you need quick access to a Weather band- No headphone jack- 8 times out of 10 when I grabbed it, I accidentally hit the SOS button; no button-lock feature- Handcrank does not feel smooth when turnedNow for the Pros of the Raynic5000 - implying 5000mAh battery- Build quality if good but not as solid feeling as the FosPower- 4 (FOUR) ways to keep this one charged; USB, Solar, Handcrank and AAA batteries- Button-lock feature for no accidental pressing of SOS buttons- Regardless of the above line, the SOS button is out of the way, so even if not locked there is no chance of accidentally hitting it- Digital tuner - this is awesome for QUICKLY selecting the appropriate weather band- Backlit (can be turned off) Digital display for battery charge level, time, status of alerts- Smooth handcrank motionCons of the Raynic5000- 1 year Warranty in comparison to Full Lifetime Warranty of FosPower4000- Handcrank comes loose from cradle very easily and is a little irritating- Pathetic carabiner includedSo, which one did I pick? It was a difficult decision because they are both excellent units, however, I ended up picking the Raynic5000!Why? Well, because, while it was difficult to forego the top-notch build quality and lifetime warranty of the FosPower, the Raynic had all the features that make it worthy of purchase while not suffering too much from its build quality; which really isn't bad at all. It's just not as good as its competitor.

Works as advertised, got it for my trailer, but haven’t had a chance to use it while camping. All items on it worked when it was unpacked & we’ll have to wait & see how it performs this summer. Flashlight portion is bright & SOS alarm is quite loud - charging port did send charge to my phone, but only used it for a few minutes to make sure it worked.

I do like it a lot but within two trips campingThe on off or volume dial causes the radio to make a hellish static sound until you stop turning it. Colin and sound quality are very good all aspects are really good minus the static it’s super annoying not worth quite so much in my eyes after owning I would actually return it and buy a different one but of course I cannot get a hold of anyone to make my claim customer service doesn’t exist

radio work very find, I charged it with the usb charging cable (included with the item) all lights work perfectly, fm radio play great but you need to slowly turn the tuning botton to find our radio station. when you have some kind of receiveing radio waves, a green light turns on ta say you are receiving a signal. It helps aa lot. I love the blue lights saying your are at 25, 50,75 or 100% of batery power, and when you are under the sun, a red light with a battery symbol turn on to say it's charging by the solar panel. This radio has a limited life time warranty. This item is a must for camping, fishing or any kind of Emergency, very fast shipping, Thank you FosPower to make some of those essential radio

This is excellent for emergency use and (my personal use) for when your power goes out. The FosPower comes with a built in radio, power bank, SOS button, USB port, charging Port, solar charging, hand crank for charging and a LED flashlight. The flashlight is very bright, I was impressed by the light alone. LED lights produce more light with less electricity so this flashlight is brighter and will last longer. The handle is easy to turn and makes a little bit of noise. When it comes to charging, it is not super fast but it is decent when you have no other source of electricity. If you have a problem with noise, say at night you do not want to wake anyone up or bother them. This can be a problem, however the noise it not excessive. it does get louder the faster you spin. The Fos has the ability to be charged via sun, however it does not charge fast. Especially if it is not direct sunlight (By your window, in a shaded area) After leaving the device by my window all day it only achieved 20% charge, and it was already near that charge level to begin with. It’s a decent feature but it does not compete with the hand crank.

Wonderful price point for a really great little radio, with all the features it contains. I have found it to be quite a handy, and enjoyable item that excels at what it is advertised to do at a really excellent price. I cannot find any complaint of any kind for this model. Of course if you want a very serious outdoors unit that can really take a beating, you have to pay quite a lot more, but this Fospower unit will perform quite well under most circumstances.

I like the fact you can crank it ,that it recharges sitting in the window all day day after day it’s been reliable so far I turn it on all the time. has a nice little flashlight on one end . You could hang it in your tent or over the sink while washing dishes something like that in an outage .Just don’t open the solar so far up and the light won’t come on so you can aim the solar to be ideal for where the sun is but in the window it’s been recharging itself just fine.It will continuously tell you temperatures abd other weather information however recently we had an outbreak as you know through the south and Noaa was not actually working so in that case it was not as useful as it could’ve been. It’s important to have a back up system that will inform you like weather on your phone or something like that. Some people find the droning on and temperatures and weather around the area irritating I think if it’s an outbreak I’m gonna listen to it be irritated to be safe lol.Additionally it takes a long time to bring those lithium batteries down you can play it for hours and still on four blue lights, which means it’s 75 to 100% charged.send in the car and get the lifetime warranty and enjoy it I think it’s really useful to have it, a long with my rock pal solar.
