This is the best purchase I have made. It quick charges in less than 2 hours. It is an amazing product and I just got it last week. I have had it with me since. I had it in my bag at the barn last night. On the way home the weather got really bad so I turned on the WB and listened to it for hours on the way home. I got home to a power outage and I took it inside for the light to the bathroom and to look for a few thingsIt had only lost 1 bar so I put in the car to charge and it did in 2 minutes. I had the top light on all night and it is still fully chargedI bought a flash fish portable power station a year ago. I plugged in it in to charge last night and it only half charged. That one you can't even use it and charge at the same time. When I got this one I was a little irritated that it was not an emergency alert radio. I was going to try it out for a couple weeks and see if I like it. I love it and will not be returning it

When it comes to emergency preparedness, the JTRYEMU Emergency Weather Radio stands out as a must-have tool for any household, adventurer, or survival enthusiast. Packed with solar charging, a hand crank, versatile lighting, reliable radio capabilities, and an SOS alert system, this device is engineered to keep you safe and informed when disaster strikes.Key Features BreakdownSolar, Hand Crank, and USB C chargingThe tri power options ensure you’re never left in the dark. The solar panel will charge it fully in 122 hours of full sunlight. The hand crank can charge it in 53 hours. They both can and should be used as an emergency backup while USB C charging of the 20,000mAH battery is the ideal way to charge, taking around 6 hours.Multi-Purpose LED LightingThe built-in LED flashlight features three modes: focused, broad, combined, and SOS strobe. The lights are surprisingly bright at 600, 150, and 650 lux combined. There is also an additional reading light capable of illuminating a small room or trail effectively. The strobe modes are ideal for signaling help, making it a versatile tool for both everyday outages and dire situations.AM/FM/NOAA Weather RadioWith access to NOAA weather bands, this radio delivers real-time alerts and updates. Reception is crisp, thanks to a retractable antenna, and it includes a tuning knob for fine adjustments and quick access to local stations. Whether tracking a storm or staying informed during a blackout, the radio performs flawlessly.SOS Emergency SpeakerThe dedicated SOS button triggers a loud alarm accompanied by a flashing strobe light—sufficient to alert rescuers to your presence. Its simplicity ensures even panicked users can activate it quickly by holding the button for 2 seconds.Bonus FeaturesUSB Charging Port: Powers smartphones or small devices—critical for maintaining communication.Compass: This can help in an emergency to show you the direction you are heading.Bluetooth: You can use this as a portable speaker.Included Accessories: Micro-USB cable, wrist strap, and a user guide.Pros✅ Reliable tri power source (solar + hand crank + USB C).✅ Bright, multi-mode LED lighting.✅ Clear NOAA weather alerts and AM/FM reception.✅ Loud SOS alarm with intuitive activation.✅ Durable, travel-friendly design.Cons❌ Solar charging is very slow and should be considered only for emergencies.❌ Hand cranking requires effort and is slow. It should only be considered for emergencies.❌ The compass is a bit small and with the strap in place is more difficult to see.❌ When the strap is in place the solar panel isn't able to get full light.VerdictThe excels as an all-in-one emergency tool, balancing functionality and durability. While the solar and crank power systems aren’t perfect, their redundancy ensures you’ll stay powered when it matters most. Whether prepping for hurricanes, camping trips, or urban emergencies, this radio is a lifeline worth investing in.Updated Con❌ In the description on Amazon it mentions the following "featuring an advanced automatic frequency search function. For FM frequency, simply press and hold the FM/AM button for 2 seconds, and it intelligently scans and tunes to the strongest signal without manual adjustments." This button is a slider switch and not able to be pressed. I'm not sure what they mean by that and nothing is mentioned in the instructions either.

I was really impressed by this little light/ radio. When unboxing I could tell that this was a solid and durable unit. There's a good weight to it, without it being a burden. Most of that is from the 20000mAh battery. It was smaller than I expected, but I was actually happy to see that. It's nice when these kinds of things can have a small footprint.Like the clever design of the solar panel with the reading light underneath it. It lets you position the solar panel at the best angle and doubles the same feature for the reading light. I also like that the charging ports had a rubber cover to keep the elements off of them, but the unit itself doesn't look very ruggedized. I think it would be okay as long as you're not getting it absolutely soaked.I don't recall the instructions saying so, but the USB C input charging port also doubles as an output port. Carrying a C to C cable would be a good idea for this. It says a removable Velcro carry handle. I just took a couple small USB cables and tuck them into the Velcro loop on each side of the handle where it meets the radio so I know that there's always some small cables with this. I included a photo of that. The included compass is very basic but better than not having one.My unit came with a depleted battery, which was a great opportunity for me to test out the crank. I tested a variety of the features only powering them from a dead battery with the crank to see how long each feature would last. I tested each with 50 cranks, which is about 20 seconds of cranking. The flashlight ran for about 5 or 6 minutes continuous before running out of power. The weather radio lasted about 10 minutes with the speaker on a lower volume broadcasting the weather station. The fold-up reading light lasted about 10 minutes as well. I didn't test the Bluetooth speaker this way but I'd imagine it'd be about 5 minutes. I think that's pretty good compared to some of the older crank electronics I've used. In an emergency, you'd be able to keep this thing running pretty easily on a low charge.I have no idea what it would take to store up a charge by cranking but, I'd assume you'd just try to let the solar do most of that work. The instructions don't give a rating for the solar output, but for the size I'd assume this is 1 or 2W. This took a few hours to charge on AC, so I'd assume a day in direct sun, plus some cranking would get you pretty far.At $50, I'd say It's a fair price. If you can get it it's something more like $40 I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I feel like having this come in handy just once would make me feel like it was worth the money.
