I'd about had it with my barely used Garrett Ace 250. All I needed it for was finding parts I loose in the garden. I was getting fantom noises if any, and not finding a thing. Then I decided to try this search coil. What a difference. The stock coil must have been defective because this one is night and day better. Right away I found a clevis pin that dropped and was rototilled under. It centers easily and responds well to settings. It found washers, a specialty nut from my tape measure dropped in the grass, and other metal objects I didn't know were out there. Glad I decided to give this coil a chance. Maybe some day I'll try coins.

The coil arrived quickly and was reasonably well packaged.The original coil on my 250 was playing up (endless beeping) so instead of buying a whole new detector, I took the relatively expensive gamble of replacing it. I read the specs thoroughly, and the Reaper seemed like an upgrade. I've taken it out 3 times now and honestly I've not noticed any better performance than the smaller original. This coil is big, and definitely adds weight to the overall detector, and thus arm strain.I know this one is waterproof as opposed to the original, so maybe sometime I'll make use of that. For the price though I would probably recommend anyone in a similar situation putting that towards the cost of a whole new detector.

Looks like exactly what I wanted with the exception of the broken mounts.Returned & Re-ordered. Can't wait to put it to use.Addendum to this review: Received the replacement today. All Good ! I haven't had the chance to use it yet in the field but all signs are that it is going to be a asset. No Hassle Return/Replace.

My old Garrett Ace 250 had the factory coil on it and it was starting to need some attention. I’d bashed the factory coil around lots and there are some chips. The time came to buy another coil. I decided to change over to this small concentrated coil. I’m glad I did. Immediately on my latest detection trip I found a very old brooch and lots of coins. All down fairly deep. The old factory coil would barely signal if at all for things like this. The small diameter makes it easy to detect small spaces. The quality is typical excellent build Garrett. I’m super impressed with this little coil and glad I changed over. Recommended.

This small sniper coil does exactly what it is supposed to do. It lets you discriminate among multiple targets to lock in on a good signal. I went back to some cellars I had searced with my DD coil and found great relics on the edges of my old dig sites and sometimes right in the old hole! The first sniper coil I purchased started giving me false signals and it got so bad I couldn't use it. I let the supplier know through Amazon about the trouble I was having and within a few days a replacement coil was on the way! You can't get better product support than that. The first outing with the new sniper - a colonial axe head buried very deep from an iron nail bed at a cellar that has been absolutely pounded in the last two years. This coil is amazing and brought the joy back to metal detecting. Thanks Garrett and Metallix for this amazing little coil.

I have a Garrett ACE 300 and I bought this coil as an upgrade. It definitely works better and is far more sensitive, finds deeper, and does better discriminating. It plugged right in exactly like the original coil and was ready to go.

Bought this as a replacement for the stock elliptical coil on the Ace 300. Significantly more accurate and provides deeper range. Ran over areas I’ve already detected previously and continue to find additional things I initially missed.

I have an ACE 250 detector with stock 6 x 9" elliptical coil that I've used for years to hunt my yard. A fair test of this coil was to see if I could start finding coins again at a depth beyond my stock coil. So far so good, in my first trip around the yard I found more coins than the last month of looking with the old coil. I won't put numbers to the increased depth - ask three people and you'll get three different answers. The bottom line is this coil works better for me than my stock coil and I am happy with it.

IS A WONDER TO UPDATE AN ACE 150, GET MORE AND MORE SENSE FIELD DEPTH, HOW TO DETECT TARGETS SMALLER AND GOLD NUGGETS COINS AND CENTS DOMINICAN PENNIES AS HE GOT A 7 INCH OVER AFTER THE ARRIVAL OF THIS DD HE GOT COINS VERY WORN AND SOME SMALL LOSSES IN THE COLONIAL PERIOD AS THE 12 COINS 1516-1570 4 maravedis OF THAT GOT IN END TO COMBINE WITH 8.5X11 ACE DD 150 COIL MUST HAVE SOME PATIENCE AND SWEEP CAREFULLY AS IT WOULD WORK AND SOME DEEPER THINGS OF SILVER AND GOLD TONE WOULD NOT MATCH IF SO VERY dEEP would sound RATHER AS A BIT OF NICKEL AND IRON BETWEEN THESE TWO, SO ME STEP WITH A RING 3.6 GRAMS WHITE GOLD WAS MORE THAN 6 INCHES, NOT EXACTLY HOW COULD SAY, BUT IT WAS BETWEEN 6 AND BEACH SAND BETWEEN 8.5 AND BELOW WET DRY, 8.5X11 RECOMMEND THAT IF DD COIL? YES, 100%.
