The capacitor in the picture has been used for about 5 to 10 years and it has burned out. You can hear the current sound of the motor when opening the door, but the motor will not start. Just replacing this capacitor will solve the problem (make sure your garage door springs are working properly. There are many videos on youtube on how to test whether the garage door springs are working. In short, if the garage door can stay at any height when manually opened, it means that the spring is working properly. If the manual garage door is very heavy and falls after being pulled up and released, it means that the garage door spring is faulty). Once again, this capacitor is used in the Genin brand iS550 garage door opener and is not the original one. The one star lost is because the capacitor is a little shorter than the original one, but it works perfectly. The installation is very simple. There is a screw at the base that can be removed by slightly loosening it. Note ⚠️ Disconnect the power supply first when checking

My Genie Screw Drive Pro garage door opener would "hum" when activated, and the motor would not function. I thought that the capacitor might be the problem, so I jotted down the capacitor model number and searched Amazon. This one from Fairbanks Electric on Amazon appeared to be a direct replacement, and it arrived the next day for a quick repair. I'm back up and running for 20 bucks!

The capacitor was the same as the old one just a little shorter physically but it fit fine and worked fine so far. The garage door opener motor would just hum and would not open or close the garage door before I replaced the capacitor now it is working fine. This part is easy to replace just be sure to unplug the power cord to garage door opener before working on the unit.
