Our Story
HOMI YOUNGJU (Hand Hoe) contains the life and soul of a craftsman.
Craftsman “No-Ki, Seok” started working in a blacksmith's shop at the age of 14 to escape poverty and has been making“HOMI” for 54 years. The average length of senior craftsmen working in the YOUNGJU blacksmith's shop is more than 50 years.
Mr. Seok carefully hits and molds the heated iron many times with a hammer for the optimal angle and grip of the HOMI. Thus, this customized and special HOMI does not strain the user’s hands and provides the most efficient and satisfying user experience. He values and prides in his reputation making the best quality HOMI and its convenience and usefulness.

This tool is genius. Honestly, if someone made me choose a single tool for gardening, this would be it. Hoes heavy soil with relative ease, tills, can be used as a weeder. I cannot recommend enough.

We bought one of these a year ago and it is seriously our most used garden tool. It is also very nicely made and because of this we decided to gift it as a wedding present to some friends that just bought their first home. I am not a fan of the drawstring bag and the gloves, they just feel like unnecessary plastic. A burlap bag with a card paper tag would be much nicer and more giftable, that would also keep me coming back as a frequent gift giver.

I don’t understand what all the hype is about this tool. The handle is rough and the groves dig into your hand unless you’re wearing gloves. It doesn’t fit nicely in your hand. The blade feels like it’s mounted backwards or like it should be a left handed tool. Very awkward and makes my hand cramp up. Plus, it became rusty within two weeks. It is sharp and the pointy end would be good for digging small trenches if it were positioned differently. I’ve read some reviews that say it takes some getting used to, but in my opinion a good tool just “fits” out of the box. This does not.

I LOVED how it was digging SO WELL!!! Phenomenal!!! I even searched on Yout*** about the history and making of this Homi (the master blacksmith's video.).I bought another one and gave it to a friend who's been doing 40 years of gardening. He said this is the best effortless tool he's ever used. Works better than any rake, shovel, spade, weed scraper whatsoever. He really loves it! Thanks for such an awesome tool!

Let’s just say I didn’t really NEED to buy a second Korean Hand hoe because mine is 38 years old and I’m perfect working condition. No other tool besides good clippers is necessary for the avid gardener or novice. Genius. I bought this one because it’s a bit longer, came with a leather case and sturdy gloves for a ridiculously inexpensive price.

A couple of weeks ago, I tried to dig the ground with a shovel for like an hour. I didn’t make any progress, except creating a line of dead grass. Today I spent less than 20 minutes digging and planting seeds with this Korean tool, homi. It is brilliant! It pulls and cuts grass and loosens hard soil with ease. No wrist pain. Get a Korean lightweight farming stool. You are set!

This was a gift, I was meh, until I tried it! This has become my number one "go to" tool in the garden! There is a learning curve to use it and now I can't stop. I love how its shape makes it easy to hold, no sharp edges so I can scrape cleanly the inside of my grow bags. Super strong to dig into those root clusters and break them apart! Solid SOLID tool because the forged steel goes straight through the handle it allows me to push deep holes into the soil, have also used it to push fabric staples down! Just LOVE it!
