The chair is very comfortable. It sits high with great back support. However, I've only had this chair for 5 months and one of the wheels already broke. The entire room is smooth laminate with no bumps. I went to roll 3 Ft. over to get something and a wheel broke in half.

I have had this chair for almost a year and the base just broke. The plastic on the base that holds the wheel in place just fell apart! Not quality. Since it is a drafting chair and sits up high the wheel being unstable is a falling hazard. I would change my rating if a replacment base would get sent to me for free. A $400 chair should last longer than a year.

This chair really fit my needs from a height standpoint. I am tall and built a large office area with a huge counter with large drawers and cabs to store stuff. A regular height chair was 2-3 inches too short. The chair is really comfortable, especially for my smaller and shorter members of my family. I think if I was to really sit in this chair for 7-8 hours working at my size, 230, it is sturdy. nice and wide, but it I am not sure I could do a 7-8 hour stretch. I may be comparing this chair to a far more expensive luxury chair which is not fair. Over all, I love this hair, it is built well, and very sturdy with a great price. I love the value, and am considering buying another for the other side of my desk.

The working island in my studio is taller than an office chair will accommodate. The Harwick Drafting Chair is perfect for my need. I am a 71 year old female retired corporate executive who spends 60+ hours a week working in my studio so the comfort of my workspace is important. This drafting chair is comfortable with the tilting back a plus. The footrest ring has a large circumference so no need to tuck your feet way back under you to use it. The height adjustment is easily and smoothly operated. The upgrade to larger wheels was a wise decision but for the price they should be standard. I put the chair together by myself in 43 minutes. It was a bit wobbly initially but I took a leap of faith and climbed aboard....at the lowest adjustment, of course. It seemed to settle a little and was stable upon standing. It is a bit heavy to stabilize while attaching the back to the seat but an unopened box of baking soda was just the right height for a prop. Quality chair although a bit pricy but I am comfortable and feel safe sitting at the height I need . I would recommend this chair.

Not including the wheels, there are 7 parts. Fairly easy to put together, the back to the arms connections were a bit tight, but with some finagling, full build took about 20 mins. Everything about this chair is smooth. Such an improvement over what I had. I have only had it for 3 days, so I will update after a few months. So far it has met my expectations of a solid chair. I am 225lbs heavy and find the chair to be more than capable of handling my weight. The foot ring is solid and does not move as I enter the chair. The arms are tight and stay where you put them (up or down). The only thing I was surprised about was the base is not metal. It looks like a very thick and solid abs plastic. I am hoping it holds up... I expect it will as the ratings set this chair to handle up to 325lbs. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This chair does NOT come assembled, and is in many pieces, so be advised. I reviewed the other, "reviews" and no one said this. It has just been delivered and it looks like it will take an hour or more to put together, just so you know.I am updating my review. I had a friend assemble the chair and now have it in my office. This chair will definitely seat you at a higher level than a standard office chair. It takes a little getting used to, at it's lowest level my toes barely touch the floor, and I have long legs and I am almost 6' tall. The seat kind of cocks your legs at an up angle, and this is not adjustable. The back is adjustable, as is the height. It is a VERY well made chair, and looks terrific, very professional. It is comfortable, but, like I said it takes a little getting used to. I would give it 5 stars if I could make the front of the seat tilt a bit downward. I just do not like sitting in a chair and my feet not on the ground.

This chair is an excellent purchase! I've worked from home for 7 years sitting at my "club height" dining room table in one of the hardwood chairs from the dining set. After suffering from chronic back pain for at least three of those years, I finally determined that my chair might have something to do with my issues. Having sold office furniture for a decade of my career, I thought that getting a quality product was going to cost me a fortune. I was wrong! The chair isn't difficult at all to put together, although, admittedly, I've put a few together in the past. If you take your time and place all screws in the holes loosely, gently adjust the placement, and then tighten, there are no issues in alignment and no force required. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality. The entire chair exudes quality. It is strong and sturdy, it operates smoothly, and is extremely comfortable! It has all the necessary hallmarks of a good ergonomic chair. lumbar support, a mesh waterfall seat to avoid compression at the back of the knee and nice armrests. Not only am I impressed with the prompt delivery and quality of the chair, their customer service is excellent. I didn't want to use the casters (as I don't want the chair to roll) so I contacted the manufacturer through their published email address (on a weekend, I will add) and received a prompt reply to my question. I purchased the optional floor glides for a very reasonable price and they offered free shipping too!I couldn't be more pleased and can confidently recommend this chair.
