I had ordered this product and prepared for the new install after my pentair sprung a leak around the top. The Hayward arrived fully assembled but without the unions that are required for the inlet and outlet. I called Hayward support and all they could say is "we don't deal with anyone other than pool companies so you just need to return it to seller".This was my first and last time dealing with Hayward-TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! I have ordered a Pentair CC150.

Called the pool guy, he came out, and replaced this unit with our old one in 15 minutes. Working perfectly. Our pool looks beautiful.

I bought this for my my pool and I have to say within a day of running 8 hours the next day that pool was so clear I didn’t know the floor looked like it is now. Great quality and the guy who service my pool is now recommending it for all of his clients with the similar size pool

My pool guy was quoting me $1200 for upgrading the filter to a 120sq feet system. I got lucky because I found a used "like new" item here for $350. The filter arrived and it looked brand new to me. I had to change the pipes and redo the plumbing. the tools and supplies cost me about $50 at home depot. In total, I ended up saving $800 from what my pool guy was asking. The filter is of high quality and works perfectly. The water in the pool is very clean. I am a happy customer.

I replaced my filter because it got destroyed in the constant sun in Florida and got weak. I also got tired of getting the loose fiberglass in my skin which made it extremely itchy. If you ever clean your filter and get itchy afterwards its the loos fibers getting into your skin. This happened to me all the time. As you can see in the picture my filter is in the sun all day long so I cover it with an old dog food bag and then place a bucket on top so it is basically completely covered. This is easy to do and has made the filter last allot longer. If you ever clean your filter and get itchy its the fiberglass wearing off. This prevents that from happening. You can definitely see the discoloration in the bottom of the filter from not being covered.

Our old sand filter gave up... so I asked around ... the pool guys wanted to sell me a larger 4 cartridge filter for $1200. Then I asked a neighbor about his ... he has a 13000 gallon pool and 3/4 horse pump and this filter and has never had a problem . I have a 26000 gallon pool and 3/4 pump... this filter works amazing... my pool guy said it was too small, he is full of hot air because my return pipe is only 1 1/2 inches in diameter and you cannot push more than 60 gallons per minute through a 1 1/2 inch pipe anyway... no matter how much horsepower you have so this filter is perfect for my pool, it was very green and took two days to clear up after we replace the sand filter with this new cartridge filter... you just have to wash the filter out a little more often than you would with multiple cartridges. It’s very easy to wash the cartridge out. Whenever somebody wants to sell you something that’s bigger, ask them why and what the benefits are because if you only have a certain size return pipe only a certain amount of water can circulate through it no matter how large the filter is.

Update: Purchased this in 2017, and got less than 4 years of service out of it. That might be acceptable, but my prior Pentair performed well for probably 15 years and I expect better quality from a good name like Hayward. I still agree that this filter cleans the water VERY well, but that's where my happiness stops. Over time it became impossible to latch down the lid completely and securely (latch system is a long metal rod that you screw the top down onto). It has been leaking for several months, just a steady small stream. This week it blew out completely, and it took several inches out of the pool level before I noticed. Unfortunately, it sprayed directly into my electrical control box (on/off switch for the pump). We reseated the lid two more times, and it blew out the side both times, before we placed an order for another Pentair. We're done with Hayward filters. Poor design caused it to fail MUCH earlier than it should have.Prior review: Bought this to replace another brand filter. It was easy to hook up and cleaned the pool water much quicker than I expected, and much quicker than our old filter system! Unlike other reviewers, we had no problems with the pressure gauge being damaged. It arrived intact, and in perfect condition. However, I could see from the packaging how the pressure gauge could easily be damaged, as it sticks out from the top of the lid and has very little protection in that position from the packaging. Overall, this is a perfect filter for our roughly 15,000 gallon pool and I expect we'll get many years of service out of it. We also have a Hayward in-line chlorinator, and it has been a real workhorse, too. I'm going to switch all of our equipment to Hayward now!

this product is the real deal OEM product, after replumbing the item into my system, it works perfectly, but i gave it 4 stars because like many of the people who have received it, it arrived with the pressure gauge completely destroyed and non functional. amazon customer service quickly and efficiently issued a credit for the damaged item and i replaced it from amazon very easily. the funny thing about this is that the outer box was in perfect condition and the inner product box was also perfect and undamaged, so it would appear that the item was damaged when it was packed by the company. i would certainly recommend this item for your in ground pool as it is a cartridge type filter that is easy to clean and care for.
