Shivering in a sleeping bag until your body' s heat warms up the inside is not part of the fun in camping. You can connect it to a charger to warm up the pad. I shut it off when comfortable leaving energy available for later in the night in case I need to get up and the bag inside is cool again. It is a nice addition to my car camping trips. Although i imagine it can be used in a mummy bag I prefer using it in an oversized rectangular bag.

This thing is perfect for colder weather. It's soft on the flannel side, it functions exactly as advertised. My only bugaboo is the bottom side is a slippery material and I tend to toss around like popcorn when I sleep so it shifted quite a bit. I read a ton of reviews that say it barely gets hot, I don't think it's made to get as hot as a regular small heating pad. I see it more like a "take off the chill" (on low) up to "keep me nice and toasty" (on high). I'm barely 5 feet tall so I couldn't quite reach the foot heater, but my feet were warm from it just being in the vicinity of them. I have poor circulation so getting/staying warm is difficult for me, this was the perfect way to fix it. I didn't use a battery pack though, I used a solar generator we bring camping. We had 3 of these plugged in on high for about 12 hours each night and it only used about 30% of the generator battery. I would highly recommend this product!

Not worth the money. Very cheaply made. I ran this during a tent camping trip and it was as about 30 degrees, and this provided zero warmth. You’re better off with a good sleeping bag and blanket.

I am always cold when I travel. This was the perfect solution to take with me on trips instead of a large blanket. I use a charger that I previously purchased and it worked fine. On the lowest setting it stayed on for 7 hours. Purchased for my family members and they said they found it easy to set up, it was easy to pack, and why didn’t they think of doing this sooner?

AMAZING!! Went camping this weekend in 26° weather and was super warm. in fact it worked too well for my husband and he let me use his as a top layer. getting into an already warm sleeping bag is a game changer. i highly recommend one and if you are so inclined, two to be sandwiched in between. They don’t come with a battery so be prepared to buy one.

Well it heats for about 4 hours. Then the usb power bank is empty and needs to be recharged. Not a lot of help in the wilderness. Also, like all things that have a "bonus" stuff sack.... you cannot get the product back into the sack. Its a good 1/3 too small for the deployed product. Team of people ready to go and I am holding them up because I am wrestling with the sack that is far too small. A few others tried too. I gave it a three star only because it worked correctly if only for a few hours.

The liner is easy to use, and didn't take much power, and the price was reasonable (with an available coupon). I had it on high for 30 minutes and it didn't even use 1% of the Jackery 1000 plus, using a steady 10w. That means a fully charged 20,000mah battery pack should last around 2 nights.I took a star off for the heating elements being awkwardly placed. I'm only 5'4", and when I laid down on the liner the lowest heating element hit at my lower calf, above my ankle. The photos show it belong placed near the bottom/foot edge, but it stops a full 14" from there, which means it's much closer to the next element than depicted. It also means cold feet for just about anyone taller than a child. It's also a bit noisy, crinkling with any movement.

Oh I like that feel of this blanket. I like the weight of it. It is already super warm, without having the heat turned on. I also love the size of it. I have put it in the sleeping bag and oh boy, this made all the difference.

I bought this to add a little heat to a sleeping bag for a pending fishing trip into the Northwest Territories. I have not used it for that purpose, but I have tested it to see if it should work out.I am satisfied that it will, and that it will be GREATThe picture is of a test in the works.A bit of background. I am testing a 10,000mah battery, borrowed from a VOLT heated vest, and how it will work out. 10, 000 ma is, of course, 10A. Remember that Amps(A) multiplied by Volts(V) equals Watts(W). You need to know, as well, that a standard battery pack gives 3.7V at all times. A 10,000mah battery will give 10 amps for one hour (=10,000mah, thus the “h” in “mah”). Or it will give 1 amp for 10 hours or any combination that multiplies to 10Ah.At 3.7V that means that the capacity of the battery is 37WA , ie., it will give some combination of amps and hours, always at 3.7V, such that the product of the three is 37.Testing the pad and battery. On low(green) my 10,000mah battery (=37WA as described above) was used up in just under 6 hours. The meter showed total consumption of about 32 WA. Plainly either the battery was not fully charged or it is not efficient to a full 37WA, or a bit of both. On low heat(green) it used about 5.4WA.On a similar test, on high heat(red) it consumes about 9.6WA. So in theory, the battery should be good for about 3.8 hours. I got more like 3.2.The picture is testing on medium(blue). it shows power consumed and time passed. It looks like it is using about 6.8AH. So, ideally, it should be good for 5.4 hours before the battery is fully discharged. More likely, given that this battery is not giving a full 37WA, I expect to get about 4.7 hours. If I get something different, I will amend this reviewIn summary, total capacity should be 37, actually less, maybe 34. Low=5.4, medium=6.8, high=9.6 So some time at low, medium and high at their consumption rates for the time used will work at out so long as the total use does not add up to more than 34My experience is that to have the battery go dead after about 5 hours sleep works out well. The residual heat stays until it is time to get up. YMMV.The pad gives of a warming factor. It is not meant to be a sole source of heat. It just takes the chill off a cold night in a sleeping bag and lets you sleep without any cold effect.I think a 10,000mah battery will be enough. Of course, 20,000mah would be betterI hope this helpsAddendumI’m back. It was cold up north this year. I was glad to have the padThe battery worked but a 20,000ma one would be better in that it could warm the sleeping bag before getting into it then running on lowQuite happy with it after the ideal test for my needs

I almost didn't make the purchase because of all the poor reviews. However, I believe the issue here for most people is that their expectations are way too high.Note: This is a USB heating pad; not a DC or AC heated blanket. The unit only draws 9 watts on the highest/hottest setting. It does not produce anywhere close to the amount of heat that a DC or AC heated blanket would produce at 50-100 watts; HOWEVER, that is NOT its intended purpose! This is a "heated sleeping bag pad" that is supposed to be used... well... INSIDE of a sleeping bag. Therefore, the little heat that it does generate is supposed to get trapped in the sleeping bag keeping everything insulated. In that use-case, it works amazingly.I am using it a bit differently. I have this on top of a tri-fold mattress in an SUV with a fitted sheet on top to keep it in place — it does not move at all like this. Next, I use a blanket on top to keep everything insulated, much like a sleeping bag would. It works PERFECTLY in this fashion as well. Hope this helps!

I use this for winter van camping. Tested this last week with -10C outdoor temperature (Inside temperature was around -2C). This kept me warm on the high setting. My battery setup is a car/agm lead acid battery attached to an inverter. Conventional AC power heat pads draw a lot of power (11 hours on an 85 amp hour battery). With the USB heat pad, I use much less power. This does not get as hot as an AC plug-in heat pad so it's important to mitigate expectations. I find the usb heat pad works well when paired with other heat sources (ie. down sleeping bag, candles, etc.) for winter camping but may not be warm enough when used solely in winter weather (ie. -10C).I'm 5'4" and all the heat zones warm my body except for the foot heat zone. I also love the buffalo plain design.
