I'm not a professional mechanic so my experience with this is limited to personal use on my own car. That being said, it works great for what I needed. In he passed c I've usually just used a C-clamp and the used up brake pad to compress the pistons, but that wasn't ideal and sometimes lead to uneven compression in dual piston calipers. This tool made the job much easier and quicker. It'll pay for itself if you use it once instead of paying a mechanic. The only negative aspect I've found is the storage case doesn't retain all of the pieces securely so they tend to so fail out of place when you open the case up. This is a really common issue with these injection molded plastic cases though so I'm not surprised. Also, its made of completely raw steel so make sure to give everything a good spray with wd40 or a rust inhibitor prior to storage. I highly recommend wd40 longterm corrosion inhibitor rather than the standard wd40.

I used these to put new brakes on my 05 ford escape. If it dont fit down into the pad groves..just tap it into place with a heavy box wrench. These made switching out the pads so much easier then using a twist clamp. The plates make sure evrything stays in placen while twisting using a drill with a choke on it.

For a VERY part timer like me, this is fancy. I'm not under any pretense this is MAC quality, but after just one job, I'm happy. Yes, it took me a little looking and watching online to get the hang of everything in the kit but once I got it, I was super happy with it. It really makes the job easier. Yes, it's not required there are other ways to compress caliper pistons, but shoot, at a twenty spot it's worth it for the convenience. Yes, the box allows the adapters to float around the box a bit but meh, I'm happy regardless. I would recommend and actually have already lent it out to a Bro In Law.

If you do your own brakes you’ll inevitably come across rear calipers that need to be twisted in while pushing the pistons back. If you do EVEN MORE brakes you’ll inevitably come across the dubious reverse threads that some manufacturers use. This kit is your answer. It allows you to push back normal and reverse threaded pistons like a breeze. No more fumbling with channel locks and c-clamps all while trying to not rip the rubber boots. The price is unbelievable too. Save yourself the time and headache and just get this kit!
