The pad is thicker and wider! I use it so much especially in the garden!

Love this. Okay, I'm at the age now where I just don't want to bend over or sit on the ground anymore. This Spring I will need to do a ton of yard work since I'm moving into a new house, so this little nifty kneeler/sitter will definitely come in handy. I had no issues with the assembly, but I did notice someone mentioning that folks with arthritis issues may not appreciate the fact that this had to be assembled. The cushion is fine and when I flip it over from the "seat" it becomes a kneeler to do the weeding. Oh, yes! I'm gonna love that! It's got the pouch on the side for carrying the pruners and such (but I have a waist pouch for that). I'm glad I have this because it will get a LOT of use this year. Right now I'm using it to sit/kneel on while I unpack and box up all the stuff from my kitchen cabinets, so I would say it has multiple uses. It does fold up easy enough to store out of the way.

Let me begin by saying that items that are more ideally suited to older users should not require assembly. Period. Obviously, the folks who produce and package ready-to-assemble kits do not suffer from arthritis or any other age-related ailment that compromises one's previous handyman bona fides. Otherwise, they'd know that putting together things with tiny screws or requiring multiple tools puts an item out of the reach of a target audience that may desperately need that item. And for that reason, I tend to deduct ratings stars for "some assembly required."In truth, the assembly is pretty limited with this garden kneeler – four hex bolts and four self-locking nuts – but that requires dexterously handling two wrenches for tightening the aforementioned fasteners. In addition, snapping on the four non-slip feet requires considerable strength. And it is so unnecessary, because once assembled, this nifty kneeler/bench folds up to only slightly larger than in its unassembled state. If they had produced AND assembled the parts, the box would have needed to be about three inches longer and maybe a half-inch thicker, and the purchaser could have lifted out a ready-to-use kneeler/bench to make their life a bit easier. That cost this otherwise superb gadget a star. That said, let me tell you about this great item. As noted, it folds easily for storage, but unfolds to provide a well-cushioned kneeling platform with sturdy raised handles that facilitate safe and easy kneeling and – very important – standing back up. The seller refers to this as a "garden kneeler," but don't let that limit your imagination. If you have to get down on your knees to scrub a spot on the floor, or scrub the floor of your shower, or add air to your tires, or check the chemicals in your pool, or wash the lower part of your car, or put down a fine bead of caulk around a tub ... I mean, there are dozens of things all of us do on our knees practically every day, and you don't have to be on Social Security to struggle getting back up or wince at the pain in your knees from the actual kneeling. This kneeler eliminates that problem! The thick cushion protects your knees during extended tasks, and the handles make getting back up nearly effortless.By the same token, you simply have to turn this thing over to have – voilà – a nifty padded bench on which to sit while you do other tasks. I had several boxes of stuff I had to sort through in the garage, and I was quite comfortable using this bench. It put me at the perfect height to work in a box on the floor. And that's just one example. I suspect I'll use it just as much as a bench as a I will as a kneeler. It also comes with a nifty tool bag that attaches to the rail, where you can store garden tools or anything else you might need to keep handy while you're doing a job on your knees.I really can't say enough good things about this kneeler/bench. Except for the assembly. But I hope those who need an item like this and struggle with that limited assembly can have someone lend a hand to get the job done. Because it definitely is worth it.As usual, I will update this review to reflect my ongoing experience with this item, including any revision of my review and/or rating if warranted.

I have purchased several of these garden kneelers since 2015. I have had knee issues for some time and have had both knees replaced. I enjoy gardening and home improvement projects which often require me to get down to ground level. This type of garden kneeler has been indispensable to me so I keep 2-3 at different locations around my house for convenience. I use them all the time for a variety of purposes and using the handles to get up or down has been essential to continuing to work outside. I use the stool option when working with planters and for painting, repairs and other home improvement projects. When searching for kneelers, you'll find several options, many using a base kneeler with various pouches and accessories that differentiate the products and prices. This particular kneeler has a similar design but is much sturdier than the cheaper kneelers. This product is different from my others in several ways. First it comes partially disassembled, requiring you to connect the legs to the seat with four bolts and locking nuts. It comes with the necessary wrenches and instructions and was easy to complete requiring just a few minutes. Pro Tip: Keep the zip ties on the legs while assembling. Move them from side to side while inserting the bolts to allow you to match up the holes without having to engage the leg release at the same time. This kneeler is superior in that the weld joints appear more substantial than the base units. This is important as the kneelers are stressed as you raise up and down and have a tendency to have the arms bent out of vertical which can lead to joint failure. The EVA pads are thicker and perhaps more importantly, are glued to a metal substructure which is far superior to the plastic honeycomb structure of the base units. The plastic base of this kneeler is actually a big plus providing a more substantial and sturdy base that is less prone to turning over. The plastic also protects against rust as the base unit scuffs over time and allows rust to form.I am not a big fan of the side bags as they seem silly and not particularly helpful but this one is made of a nice canvas material and is substantial in weight. The product description suggests the kneeler will hold up to 400 pounds and while I can't confirm this feature, the overall construction gives a very sturdy impression. This is clearly the best of all the kneelers I have acquired and used.

I’m glad to have this bench for the season. It’s definitely a help for preparing the raised gardens. I forgot about it and was killing my back trying to clean things out. Once I brought it out and sat down I could spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning the beds. The only thing I could say negative is that on flat floors it was wobbly. Not as noticeable outside on dirt but still a little bit noticeable. I’m still enjoying it though and it definitely helps.
