It's not a great product, but it does a fairly decent job. It's neither excellent nor crap, just mid.If you plan on buying this, stock up on whetstones and other sharpening products. You're gonna need it! The blade is very low in carbon, so it won't hold an edge for very long. It's fine in a pinch, but don't expect to take down multiple trees every day. After 10 to 15 swings, you'll be sharpening the edge again

Haven’t used this yet but you can tell it’s sturdy right from the get go. A few very minor imperfections in places but not enough to dock it for anything. The head seems surprisingly heavy compared to the entire handle (I get it’s supposed to be that way but it’s noticeable). The blade is sharp but yet also jagged. Not smoothed out very well but who cares really? It’s gonna get dinged up anyway.I am however taking 1 star away due to the excessively large sheath and its awkward design. I would like the sheath to fit snuggly/firmly around the blade, rather than have this excessive loose extra space around the top of the sheath. It’s too much excess and unnecessary room. Also… why do we have to put the hatchet HANDLE FIRST into the sheath??…. WTH? You have to put the hatchet in HANDLE FIRST to get the sheath on…. Rather than the normal way which is over the hatchet head…. Very odd design.I’m not bashing this product by any means. The hatchet seems strong and decent quality. But that sheath leaves a lot to be desired.
