Junk! The compass I received was not the compass I ordered. The description of the compass says it is a metal alloy mine is plastic. The compass itself most of the time does not point to north I would not trust it at all for back country travel. The box the compass came in was the only quality part of the purchase. I have a forty year old Silva compass the still works fine. I will attempt to return the compass for a refund. The Anbte brand compass does not deserve a single star.

This compass is well constructed and accurate compared to other compasses, and would be an excellent addition to your emergency kit, or to keep in your vehicle or hiking backpack. This is a lasting and always useful device that could be combined with a gift about going places or finding your own way. Compasses are interesting and useful to everyone from elementary school campout groups to seasoned travelers. It is a good tool to have on hand if you ever think you might be somewhere in snow or fog and lose your bearings or, if you just think compasses are really cool and want a nice-looking one.

Zwar bin ich seit einiger Zeit angeblich Vine Produkttester, habe aber bisher noch nie eine Teststellung erhalten - meine Artikel habe ich also normal bestellt und bezahlt. Dies vorweg. Der gelieferte Kompass ist sehr gut verpackt und verarbeitet. Die Genauigkeit ist gleichauf mit meinem Silva Ranger. Natürlich muss man den Kompass möglichst waagerecht halten, was durch die Daumenhalterung kein Problem ist. Die Peilung durch den Draht und das Ablesen durch die Linse (ist natürlich kein Fernglas) gelingen problemlos. Getestet habe ich den Kompass natürlich im Freien, um Ablenkungen durch Metall, Magnete und Stromleitungen usw. zu vermeiden. Dank der Vergrößerungslinse kann ich den Kompass auch ohne Brille gut ablesen. Der Kompass ist wasserfest, stoßfest und hat eine sehr gute Nachleuchtfunktion. Der Neigungsmesser funktioniert ebenfalls gut und die Lünette ist drehbar, um die Marschzahl einzustellen etc. Die Skala zeigt Mil und Grad an, was sehr gut ist. Der Kompass ist weniger zickig, wenn man den etwas neigt (schräg hält), als andere Produkte. Möglicherweise funktioniert der dann auch in der südlichen Hemisphäre - also quasi eine "globale Nadel"?! Alles in allem ein sehr guter Kompass für wenig Geld. Den Cammenga-Kompass werde ich mir also sparen.

This compass has all the necessary features if you get lost in the backcountry. Unlike most low-quality compasses available in big box stores, it is not entirely military-grade, but still an excellent compass at this price point. However, keep in mind that you must have proper training on how to use a compass.
