Nice looking bolo tie. Not heirloom quality, but looks and wears just fine. I just started wearing bolo ties with the Western style vests I wear, and this is a nice addition to my modest collection of bolo ties. The size of the piece and cord is roughly the same as shown in the Amazon listing. The cord is long enough for me and I am taller than most. The metal looks fine. It is lightweight, perhaps some sort of zinc alloy. Nicely crafted and looks pretty good, even up close. It’s not going to pass for real silver or gold, but there is some sort of black paint in the recesses which sort of gives a patina look to it. The tips are silver colored with the black, and also have a sort of patina look. I do like the clip that keeps the cord in place, a bit better than the usual (at least with the ones I already own) thin looped metal. The listing says “high-quality leather, which is soft, tough and durable” I suppose “high-quality leather” could mean some high quality chemical laden stretchy faux leather-like material. I’m almost positive that no cow gave his life in the production of this leather braided cord. There was an unpleasant smell to it when I first received it, but after a short while I can’t smell it at all. It’s also a lot stretchier than other cowhide braided leather items I have.Still, this is an attractive bolo tie for an attractive price. I think it looks good on me and I certainly can recommend this bolo tie.
