No issues here. I carefully read the instructions and got it ready.. and then moments later.. cheese! I figure if the cheese is a bit too cold, it’ll be really hard to slice. You can likely let your cheese sit for a bit to become less cold/hard before you slice.

It's nice, heavy-duty, industrial-looking.I've gone through several of the small variations of cheese slicers, some marginally better than other ones. My daughter walks away with all of them, so I revolted and got this. (I did like the looks of it anyway.)There were no surprises, although I didn't notice that the description said don't put it in the dishwasher. That would be better, to be able to just wash away all the cheese shreds in the cracks. I'm going to try using it for fruits and soft vegetables, too.Anyway, I believe the wire would break with anything hard, so I've used it carefully for soft room-temperature cheese. It works well for Swiss and similar ones.A length of wire is included, and a little cleaning brush, that you could find a duplicate for.The description does tell the thickness-- thicker than I would prefer but it wasn't hidden. I had hoped there would be an adjustment somewhere, but nope.So the two things I would change, no dishwashing and thick slices, were given right there, and it's always important to read before buying, I'll give it five stars. Note the measurements -- that it does take somespace. And when you run out of wire, as you will, look at Amazon for "piano wire." That's what I've used for years.

Have you ever noticed that block cheese is cheaper, but you don’t want to constantly be slicing cheese, and even when you try it ends up weirdly sized and too thick? This cheese slicer allows you to do slices that are perfectly even. You can do a whole block at one time, which saves sooooo much time. You can save money by buying the block cheese. You can even use this for lunch meats! It is a little thick for me for lunch meat, but again it is cheaper, and you can use real meat, instead of that highly processed stuff. You can also use this to make some unique charcuterie bords. If you slice the cheese then lay the block back in, in the opposite direction you can even make little cheese cubes. I do wish there was a way to adjust the thickness of the slices, but I haven’t seen how that would be possible. Overall, I think this slicer is awesome and makes fast work of slicing soft cheeses and meats.
