This filter is a fraud. Water tastes horrible. Water flow from filter acts is as if it is simply a pass through. Moreover, unlike the OEM replacement that, when first initialized clearly demonstrates there is a carbon core by virtue of the water coloration, I witnessed no such effect with this filter.

This filter fit perfectly in my under sink water filter, a stainless steel Multipure model 500. As you can see from my photos, the original filter never got changed for years!Oh well, now I know how to do it! There is a rubber ring and a rubber spacer that should be replaced every two years but the manufacturer keeps the sizing secret and I didn't bother with measuring the ones I have now. Just FYI.This is a great replacement filter and it's super easy to swap out!

As many noted, it took quite a while for the water coming through the filter to clear up. I ran the water maybe 15 min and it looked pretty clear. I let it sit a while but when I came back it definitely was not ready yet. I ran it another 30 min. At the end of that the water was clear and completely void of taste. Let it sit overnight, ran it about 10 min more and it was good to go. NOTE: I was using a small filtered water dispenser, not a kitchen faucet so flow rates are not too high.I would buy it again but I would do a few things differently:Being an optimist, I didn't use a bucket to catch the water. I would definitely do that so I could water plants or something useful, not just run it down the drain.I would rinse it before I installed the filter to remove anything loose (maybe it would clear more quickly).

A fraction of the price of the Multipure OEM filter; but a complete waste of money. We have gone back to the CLEAR2O system because -- in-spite of it's great inconvenience -- it at least improves the water.
