Your cart is empty.Epoxy Primekote is a multi-purpose two-part epoxy primer that is the recommended primer for use with two-part finishes and can be overcoated with any Interlux topside paint. It is also used as part of a system to re-surface cracked and crazed gelcoat prior to the application of topside paint, and over clear epoxies to eliminate the effects of amine blush. Epoxy Primekote is bright white, which makes it ideal for priming bilge and locker areas.

What can I say, Interlux is pretty much the best. I used it on the topsides of my sailing dinghy and as a primer for a 1911 historic landmark home restoration in NYC. A lot of people don't realize that paint isn't waterproof and even though your house (hopefully) doesn't usually get submerged, water does cling to it, especially if you have clapboard or shiplap siding and if it rains for a few days in a row, the drip edge is basically submerged for a few days, and that can start to break down the paint bond. This primer will help avoid that. It's expensive, but not as expensive as the labor to paint your house.

Material as it comes is trowel grade, you will need to thin it substantially to get it to a paintable viscosity. And it is impossible to find the appropriate thinner, even on Amazon. I ended up using a MEK substitute (MEK would have likely been better) because that is all I could find. Even Amazon does not carry the thinner. And even thinned, it will leave brush marks - it doesn't flow at all so that can be good or bad depending on your application.

Awesome product have been using for years, great primer base before your top coat. Fills in all the little cracks that form in your glass throughout the years. Don’t forget to thin before you spray. This company that sells their product on Amazon does an excellent job with shipping it, always arrives early. Bought many products from this company and have no regrets. Normal stores usually don’t stock a lot of this product if you are doing a larger project. These guys are my new friends..

Really good boat primer fills imperfections and sticks well sands easy, went over one part interlude after sanding well and no issues with the two part perfection a lot of work but happy with the results
