This is a well made product, I purchased a new one to replace one of the same model, PF1202T that had been in service for 20 years , the old one had a timer on the right side, the booster pump timer, fail. It was less expensive to replace the whole unit myself than to have an electrician or pool technician come and replace the timer module.

I installed this at a house that we purchased for a rental. It was the least expensive controller I could find that had freeze protection. Easy install.

I had three separate controls for my main pump, booster pump, and freeze control that were pretty dated and the timer mechanism for the main pump went out. I like the fact that this one unit encompasses all three controls in a single box and much of the wiring that I would have had to do for each was already done! The instructions were clear and easy to follow and, having never worked with 220v before, I was a bit apprehensive...but it was super easy and works like a champ!

This is exactly what I needed. It's easy to install and works exactly as it should. I've read reviews of the freeze guard where people had trouble with temperature control and the system going on and off. If you actually READ the label attached around the temperature sensor tube (which WILL break if not handled properly) it tells you to route the sensor OUTSIDE the cabinet and protect it with some tubing. This is not a difficult thing to do and make perfect sense. I was planning on doing this even before I read the tag. It seemed logical if you have any idea how these devices function.Mine replaced a pair of old timers in individual boxes, so I had to bend some conduit (it's been a lot of years since I've done this, but no big deal) and extend some wiring. In the overall scheme of things I'd say it was pretty easy and it works great.

I would have given it a 5, but my only gripe is with the temperature sensor probe tube. When this shipped, it was neatly twisted, but obstructing the ground bar. I moved it attempting to make room for me to attach the ground wires to the ground bar, and ended up breaking the copper tube. It was filled with some sort of gas, and immediately rendered itself useless when the gas quickly exited the pressure-filled copper tube. Of course the manual warned to be careful with this probe, but I didn't read that until after it was broken.I got a replacement thermostat, and was more careful the second time around. since then, it has worked flawlessly.
