Only reason I can’t give it a five is I have not used the chisels yet. That being said they appear to be very well made.

Good quality and a fair price.Came out of the box pretty sharp. I plan on Sharping them more myself, but they were already plenty sharp to finish the project I was working on when I bought them.

So I have had these chisels for over a year and a half now. When you get them they come covered in grease that you have to wipe off. Out of the box I would say they come "sharp enough". But if you are looking to do more detailed work with them, more set up is needed. I.E. flattening the bottom and putting a secondary bevel on the ends. Overall they are a good beater chisel which is fine, however I was looking for something that would work better for general wood working. After running a file across a few parts of the chisel, you can see that all of them are a little soft for tool steel. Ideally, you want something a little harder. so it retains an edge longer. For me, it cuts through soft woods like pine pretty good, but after trying it on some ash to make a dove tail, the chisels dulled really quickly. I had to sharpen them multiple times in order to get through a small project because the cutting edge was either getting dull or would end up with small nicks in it because the edge would fold over. If you are looking for something kind cheap that you can really hammer and beat on, it is a fair chisel. I wouldn't recommend it for detailed wood working though.

Not very sharp but I always sharpen my chisels before first use. I was able to get these razor sharp and they are working great for inletting my rifle stocks. Highly recommend

Larger than I imagined they would be. Beautiful tool, well balanced, and evident quality of material. One reviewer gave 3 stars based on comparing these chisels to another option costing 4 times as much: RIDICULOUS. The edges seem perfectly sharp to me.

Just an outstanding set of chisels and very reasonably priced. Really great quality plastic on the handles. Very dense! They can take a blow. Steel is nice and thick. Took me about 20 minutes to get this set razor sharp on 3 diamond stones. Very happy with this purchase. Would recommend them to anyone.

Good product to buy in special. The only thing I regret with this purchase it's that there is no box to carry it, but even there, it's a good product.

They aren't GREAT chisels, but they work fine for me. One of the reasons I bought them was to see how well they performed compared to the review snobs that only recommend the absolute best / most expensive of whatever item topic. These chisels surely cut better than I had been lead to believe. I'm dovetailing projects in red-oak, maple, ash, walnut, and poplar. After a few months of use they don't need sharpening yet either.I could have bought the BEST, but that would suggest my level of work was the BEST too.I think that I'm going to buy a pair of these in 1/4" and grind them as skew chisels to clean-up my half-blind dovetails.

pictured above are the older model made in England and what I received were the newer handle shape and made in China. HOWEVER, as much as I hate stuff from china, I received chisels that were machined flat and true on back and properly ground on the front. Therefore, these flattened and sharpened BEAUTIFULLY to an exquisitely sharp edge. I chiseled away for an hour on very hard cherry and the chisel was still hair popping sharp with no sign of tempering errors, poor steel, edge folding, dullness, or any other defect of any kind. i doubt I will wear these out in my remaining lifetime. BTW, the new handle shape is very good in that the flatter butt end is nice to bump with the heel of your hand or for striking with a mallet. Overall they are very well shaped for both hand paring, and mallet work. These present an incredible value for the money and are highly recommended.UPDATE....After heavy use the last two months, all my comments above still hold true. I am mostly a hand tool woodworker and furniture maker, so I know hand tools and use them heavily, though I never abuse tools. These chisels are fine for everyday use and take and hold a very good edge. The ONLY negative comment I can come up with is that the handle design does not prevent the tools from rolling on a bench. Be advised then to set them in a tray, as I do so they don't fall on the floor and damaging the edge.

These are very sharp, the handles are nice and sturdy, and the sizes are very useful. As long as you treat these with respect and do not pound on them, you will be very pleased with the results. I haven't experienced much dulling with them yet. Once again, the price is pretty reasonable for what you get here. They are good enough for serious woodworking or someone who is just getting into the hobby.
