Worked better than the screwdriver I was using. Made a nice edge on my card scraper. I never used one before so I can't comment on the performance but it seems well made

So, I’m a hard head cheapskate and tried using screwdrivers, punches and an assortment of other “hard” tools for burnishing. Save yourself the headache of appropriately burnishing a card scraper and use this. Literally less than 1 minute of burnishing with this on my crown scrapers produced beautiful shavings instead of dust. I wanted to love scrapers but could never get a (appropriate) burr. I wish I had bought this a long time ago.

After driving myself mad using a screwdriver, buying cheap nail punches, and using whatever smooth metal shank I could find trying to put an edge on my scraper, I finally dished out the cash for a tool meant for the job. I haven't used it a whole lot yet, but I got an edge (sigh of relief), at last. I give this five stars because now I KNOW I have a steel harder than my scraper, and I KNOW now it's my technique, not the tool. The handle's comfortable, etc., etc., yada, yada, yada, and just having it in my toolbox is a sigh of relief, that when I need to, it WILL do the job :)

Crown makes great quality tools. Not much to say about a burnisher but it works well and the handle is easy to grip and the burnisher is high quality in my opinion.

I have been using "other" tools to burnish my scrapers. I was taught by using other tools (like old screw drivers) so I didn't even realize there was a specialty tool to do it. All I can say is I wish I had known sooner. The product looks, feels, and performs excellent. I can't be happier.

I use this tool to sharpen my card scraper. I was using a large steel drill bit with inadequate results. I just got this burnisher, and after the very first use, the scraper is super sharp. So....get the right tool for the job. This tool is well made and works very well.

I was using the steel burnisher that came with my knife set but was not getting good results. The burnisher actually got groves in it because the card scraper steel was too hard. The Crown burnisher seems to be much harder. I was amazed at how fast I was able to sharpen my card scraper; two perpendicular strokes and two strokes at a about a five degree angle and I was making shavings. I am very pleased.

Well made burnishing tool makes turning over a burr on your scraper easy. Large handle and long blade makes it safe and steel is very hard to create a burr easily. Highly recommend this tool to keep your scraper well-tuned.

I have recently been working with card scrapers and love how they perform (when sharp!). After some time my scrapers have lost their burr and become dull. I tried using a hardened drill bit but it did not work very well. The Crown burnisher has a comfortable handle and works very well. I was able to get my cards sharp with very little effort. This is a must have tool if you are using card scrapers!
