I bought these clamps for a movie prop replica. I needed black.I also wanted it to look aged. All scratched up with the coating coming off.The paint or "coating" started coming off when I was gently installing the clamp. I scuffed it up a little more (which was really easy) with a scotch brite pad and it came out great!NOW, if you want black clamps that are gonna stay black, buy something else.The black coating is so fragile that if I were to use these hose clamps on an actual hose, like in an engine bay, the clamp will be mostly silver once it is installed. 100% guaranteed.I don't know what they coated these clamps with. I suspect it might be crayons. (just kidding).Know this: the black finish is NOT DURABLE AT ALL.That's it. Want black clamps? Don't buy these.

They function as advertised and look great but do bind with heavy tightening . Paint also scratches easily
