I have three bikes with Guide or G2 brakes and they howl like hound dogs in the rain using sintered pads. I read that organic pads are better in the rain for noise, so I popped for these. In the rain, they howl just as much as the other brake pads, just at a slightly different tone (sintered were a tri-tone, these were a perfect fourth). If your brakes howl, they will howl with these on. Such is life.In use, these brakes work fine, but so did the sintered ones. From my experience, very long downhills can cause them to overheat and disintegrate where the sintered pads just start squeaking from the heat but still slow you. Get sintered pads even hotter, then the rotor warps and your brakes come on automatically, usually accompanied by lots of horrible loud sounds. When the organic pads disintegrate, you have no brakes on that wheel. Granted this is only on veeery long hills for a rider that is not light, so if you live in the midwest or weigh 110lbs, forget I said anything.

Long story short: I put these on my down country bike, which has 4-piston G2 guide brakes, and they are noisy (some kind of vibration) and not as good as Sram sintered metallic pads. I’m heavy and I ride a lot of enduro on my other bike, so I know what good brakes feel like, and I dig it. So when my new used downcountry bike came with organic pads that couldn’t slow down a preschooler, I knew I needed to go sintered. On my enduro bike I usually get Sram metallic pads, but the Jagwires are a little cheaper and they talk a lot of smack about how awesome they are, so I figured I would try a set.Power: The power is decent but not great. I had only had organic pads on this particular bike, so when the stopping power wasn’t great with the Jagwires I blamed the smallish calipers and 180 rotors.Noise: The thing that really bugged me about these was the noise. They just make really loud vibrating sounds at unexpected times. I live in Southern California, it’s bone dry, but half the time when I throw on the brakes with these pads they are super noisy. This was over 6 or 10 rides, so I know it was not due to some particular weather condition or an extra long downhill that heated them up. And since the power wasn’t confidence inspiring either, I decided to go to my usual standby (because they come with everything)…Sram sintered/metallic: problem solved. I bought some sram metallic/sintered pads, the same ones that would’ve come with the brakes, on the same rotors as the Jagwires, and I have tons more power and the brakes never make a noise. Other than the usual break noises you want them to make (that grinding noise that tells you they’re working). No vibrations or screeching, unless they actually get wet (which is expected). So I’m back to Sram sintered and will never stray again.

I've always used SRAM OEM pads and have never had a complaint. Tried these for a change on account that they were noticeably cheaper and Jagwire is a reputable company. No complaints. They seem to work at least as well as the OEMs and have a nice red finish which the originals do not. Bonus! For the record, I like my Guides RSC's more than the XTR trails on my other bike. better modulation and peak grip and much easier to bleed.

These pads work fine. I get the same mileage as I do with SRAM organic pads. Braking power seems about the same. The only unusual noise they make is right after crossing a stream--which is in fact quite usual. Performance and longevity are about the same, so if you get get these cheaper than OEM, do it.
