About this item

  • JAPANESE AZEBIKI SAW: Azebiki Saw is used to cut holes, mortises, grooves in mid-panel, and sliding dovetails. These saws are also useful for working in restricted areas without damaging adjacent work—Japanese essential carpentry tools.
  • UNIQUE ROUNDED BLADE: The curved blade allows you to start cutting while cutting into a flat surface. The moderately short blade is a real virtue. You can get it into corners that were impossible to reach with any previous saw.
  • RYOBA DOUBLE-EDGED: Double-edged pull saw for both rip cut and crosscut. You can enjoy silky smooth cutting regardless of the wood grain. All KAKURI saws are manufactured in Japan and handcrafted by Japanese craftsmen.
  • RAZOR SHARP JAPANESE STEEL BLADE: The blade is made of Japanese steel and you can enjoy the effortless cutting. Japanese saws are used with a pulling force, and their sharpness results in a clean-cut.

This was bought as a gift, so all I can say is that it arrived on time as scheduled, and it looked nice.

Such a perfect tool for cutting into a flat surface without going over the edges. Great for handles, slots, and even rebates are easier with the convex blade shape. Comes very sharp. Ive had the issue plenty of time where i need to cut something and use a jig saw and get horrible tear out and non square, non straight edges. This is way easier to control, leaves a nice surface, no tear out, light weight. great tool

One of these is quite indispensable for starting a cut in the middle of a board. Also great for starting a cut across a board using a guide block, perhaps cut at an angle for say a sliding dovetail. The curved blade allows cutting with just a few teeth, like when starting a mortise or stopped dado. The flexible blade allows guiding the blade with a block clamped to the surface by pressing the blade up agains the guide during the stroke. Not something I use every day, but when I need it no other saw will do. I would definitely do it again and recommend.

What an amazing tool. I don't know how I managed all these years without it. So easy to start in tight places, so sharp to cut accurate thin lines. So dang useful. I love it. Now I just need a smaller version for tiny doll house furniture. I give it a 10 out of 10. 👍😉

The Japanese are masters of any craft they take on. I wish that quality was held in such high regard in American culture. Excellent and amazing saw!

This saw is very easy to use on hard or soft wood. Its not the most used saw that I have but it comes in very handy when I need to make a cut on the inside, like a mortise, window or vent. It has teeth for crosscut and rip cutting. Very easy to maneuver because of the thin kerf and saw size. If you don't have a jigsaw or working off grid,, this is a very good alternative.
