This is a great gaff. The "feels cheap” comment is really misguided, because yes, it is light but strong, like my buddy’s $120 carbon gaff. Unlike my buddy’s Cucci gaff, these float, so they can be recovered when things get a little crazy, and if it gets lost in the surf, you won’t cry. It is completely strong enough (I have had some riled up >32” halibut and salmon hooked up on the business end without issue. Light in weight also means it handles very quickly in those crazy moments when you want that big, wild fish in the boat. The stainless held up for years, but I sadly lost it and am replacing it now.
