I can't tell if it's a real Kum brand magnesium sharpener that you can use to start fires with, beyond the printing on it, but I can tell you that it is really lightweight and does a great, fast job of sharpening pencils. Sharpens to a wicked good point, and it does it quickly with minimal strain. I'd give it a 5/5 if it weren't that misleading pic that made me think I was getting 3. Sorry, but that feels intentional and maliciously misleading, especially since it's the primary photo. Otherwise, great sharpener. Perfect for travel.

Wonderful sharpener for colored pencils. Nice sharp points on oil base pencils without paring them down too far. I prefer it to electrics. Stays sharp a long time. Highly recommend.

This is for one sharpener. You can get six for essentially the same price on this site. The photo is misleading.

Made in Germany, this will keep pencils sharp with just a simple twist. You will have to use it over a trash can, since there is no place for collection — just the simple sharpener. Should the blade wear, they can be replaced.

That's right they are just that, extremely durable this is a great little pencil sharpener that is extremely easy to use and very reasonably priced. This sharpener is definitely a must-have for anyone who's involved in outdoor adventuring because it is great for using to make kindling for starting fires and for sharpening pokey sticks for poking things! These sharpeners are definitely reasonably priced and well worth it.

I travel a lot and am out on job sites and needed a all-around great pencil sharpener. It seems as I travel the points break off even though I’ve tried to use mechanical pencils. It seems that wherever I go, I have a wooden one give it to me at the job site.It’s an awesome product and I’ve bought many for friends and will buy several more.

I researched sharpeners. The consensus was KUM. I bought this as an Add-on when buying new pencils. Two twists, done! Two holes, fits all of my stock! Even his rivets to change your blades if you want to you. I use a jelly jar to catch my pencil shavings, but it's no big deal you can use anything you want because this is the rocking good deal.Don't forget to keep your shopping or inspected and clean. I have many types of colored pencils and they all offer their own sharpeners. I have some from other companies that do not do the same work because I can't see inside of the catch basins. I love my KUM Pencil sharpener. So do my precious pencils!(My recycled jelly jar not included)
