Great looking unit. To make it better it should have a Humidity reading on it. Its simple to adjust the temperatures and date with the four buttons on the front. I do recommend it.

So the outdoor sensor finally died. We had some rough weather (hurricane), and I didn't think about taking down the sensor. It worked fine for months after the weather, but we had some wind. When I went out to check, the back of the sensor had been knocked off. I found the back, reset the sensor and weather station, but the outdoor temperature is not working properly (it says -58 and it's probably 91). It does still make a connection. For anything that is outside to last 5.5 years, it's amazing. The sensor is plastic, so it does take a beating. Unfortunately, the sensors Amazon has for sale are not compatible with this weather station. I'm reordering the same model and will remember to bring the sensor inside if we ever get another hurricane. It was the first we ever had and was not predicted to come our way, so no one was prepared.

Always on display when plugged in. Outside temp sensor is wireless and can go anywhere out of the sun for accuracy. Great for my garage where I spend a lot of time.

I have had several LaCrosse thermometers and the displays go bad after a few years. The sending units (I have 3 in a drawer) are fine even being out in the weather. Nice size display.

I bought this meter because, I wanted to monitor the temperature inside a tent. I put the sensor inside one of the tent pockets, and I have the display inside the house plugged in to the wall. I put a couple of batteries inside the display as well, incase a power outage happens, It can keep its data. Both the display unit, and the sensor, use 2-AA batteries. The display can provide you the time, the day/date, the indoor temperature, and the outdoor temperature. Readings can be displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The display will also record temperature trends, showing weather the trend is high or low. The unit is easy to set up, and only takes a few minutes. After putting batteries in the sensor and powering up the display device, it only takes a little while for it to connect with the sensor, but be patient!I feel that this meter is pretty accurate, as I have compared it to another one from another brand, and they were pretty much matching up perfectly. I really like the colorful display, and the quick readings it provides. The top numbers are your time, the day is displayed bellow that, then you have the indoor temperature in amber, and the outdoor temperature in green. I did have one issue when it became night time, the meter lost connection to the sensor. All I did was hold the minus button down 3-seconds to make the meter search for the sensor again, and it was back.Since multiple people are leaving reviews about the meter loosing connection with the sensor, its obviously a real problem that the company needs to fix. However, some people are leaving their outdoor sensors in the elements without shield plate protection, and the sensor getting batted by heavy winds, rain, snow, it just kills them. My sensor doesn't need the shield, because its protected inside the tent.So far, my meter is holding up since I reconnected it to the sensor, hopefully it stays that way. I really like the colorful display, I love how accurate it is, and it really helps to monitor the temperature inside that tent, as I don't want it getting too cold, or too warm during the winter time. The meter really helped me to dial in the heater. I do recommend it, but be aware it does have some faults. 4 out of 5 stars.

This is an update to my previous 5 star review. The main problem with this device is that it loses communication with the outdoor sensor for no apparent reason, displays dashes (- - -) where the outdoor temperature should be. After 10 or 15 minutes it starts getting data again, or I can force it to start receiving again by pressing and holding the minus (-) button for a few seconds. I have several of these thermometers, all getting data from the same sensor. They all lose temperature data at the same time. I've tried 4 of the outdoor sensors and the problem still happens from time to time. The outdoor sensors are located close to the receiving displays, within about 30', well within range. As an experiment, I brought the outdoor sensor indoor within a few feet of the displays and the problem still happens. That's why I lowered the rating of this device to 3 stars. When it works, which is the majority of the time, it's good. This is the least expensive wireless outdoor thermometer on the market that has a legitimately readable lit display that stays lit constantly when the AC adapter is plugged in. I'm using this as a car thermometer. The AC adapter that comes with it puts out 5 volts DC, so I'm buying a Sirius XM 5Volt DC PowerConnect Vehicle Power Adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter, which I'll use to power the thermometer. Whenever the car is on, the display will be lit, so, while driving, I can see easily glance at the thermometer and quickly and easily read the outdoor temperature day or night!
