Screens for Single Panel Hinged Doors - Standard Height Listing

The Brisa retractable screen door for single panel hinged doors is available in three heights: short, standard, and tall.

The dimensions shown on the right reflect the standard height Brisa unit.

Doors, door frames, and door sills vary by manufacturer. An advantage of surface mounting the Brisa screen is that it can be moved up and down in the opening as needed in order to best fit your specific door frame and style of door sill before fastening it in place. This makes the Brisa screen extremely versatile and able to fit the heights indicated.

When installing on a single hinged door, a 3/4" or greater mounting surface depth is required inside the doorframe.

Easy install, screen quality is great. The door retracts and clicks into place with ease. Durable. You have to hold onto the door as it retracts or it will slam back. Nice and tight fit.

Fires and functions very well.I bit disappointed with the latch and its adjustment. Wound up flipping the latch upside down to have it catch from the top so it performed better.Overall we are very happy with its construction.Buying another for second door.

I bought two of these. One for our garage entry and the other for our side house access. Both are covered from the elements and are not exposed to rain. My side door screen is doing ok. My garage door one that is used less frequently has failed. The spring inside has lost tension. Larson sent a replacement spring but when I attempted to re assemble the screen door I simply cannot get things to fit back together. The sharp edges keep tearing the big section of screen and the small plastic pieces are becoming loose and not clasping together anymore. I’ve spent 5 hours trying to get this to work again but it’s just not working. As an owner of two of these I hoped Larson would understand that I did my best and either send me a new door or offer me a discount, but they said they would not. It’s frustrating because the two that I bought were purchased at the same exact time, and one completely failed. This to me seems like a faulty unit that should be replaced. But instead they send me a spring and tell me that’s the best they can do. I really enjoyed the screen door and it’s almost summer so the bugs are out, and we cannot use our home gym in the garage any longer due to no screen door. Very disappointed… I wish they would just send me a new door so I can enjoy my garage this summer!

This is a sliding screen door, and for that function it works. But...Pros: it works as a screen door should.Cons:1. The threshold strip is way too short, 29" for a 36" door frame. They expect you to use a plastic piece to cover each side. Unless you put a few screws in it then it will slip around and tear the screen as it is opened and closed. Causes too many screw holes in your sill plate. You must cut the plastic piece to fit as snugly as possible and if you don't then, since it does not cover the sill well this is a potential entry point for bugs.2. The screws are cheap and break off. Plus they are not flush. So if you go around barefoot you may injure yourself on the screw heads.3. The door latch is difficult to get the hang of. I can see that it is a weak point and may break with repeated tries of trying to get the door to latch or unlatch. Worse when there are guests or children.4. The entire frame shortens the width of the actual doorframe as it sticks out into the doorway. This is an issue if you move large objects in and out of the door. Also I have found that the latching side sticks out to the point of me scraping my knuckles when I unlock the main door with my key.5. The top frame is not flush with the house trim. Another moulding must be added or silicone seal to keep the bugs out.Highly disappointed, but the choices are limited. Not worth the money. Too bad they don't make my old one any longer...

This is a great piece for our door and porch. I am so happy with how this turned out. It fit perfectly without having to cut the door, though we did have to place a couple of filler pieces to the frame to secure it into place. And that’s only because of the moulding around our door. The instructions can definitely use some improvement but it was straightforward enough to figure it out. It took us less than an hour after we had the frame out of the packaging. Just make sure to line-up the “fuzzy” pieces and take note of whether your door is left or right hinged. Ours is left hinged and the frame came for right hinged. But we only had to flip the latch and tadaaa… Perfect! The latch is adjustable with the two screws so you can move it up or down to either make it “softer” or more secure.I do recommend this product! Let that breeze in and leave the flies out!

This is great door once it is installed, but it REALLY needs two people (I was solo) to do the installation in 30 minutes. First, it takes almost 30 minutes to uncrate it and them unpack and inventory the packing list. The assembly would go easier if you can do it on a king size bed or some other elevated 4” x 8” table or sleet of plywood. Without these, the only thing left is to do it on the floor with a lot of kneeling, squatting, and scurrying from end to end and side to side on your knees (not good for aging, arthritic knees!).Once the frame parts are laid out on the floor (or table), fitting the slide bars into the screen housing went fairly easily with some trial and error to ensure the grooves on the slide bar aligned properly with the screen housing corners. Trying to fit the slide bar into the decorative housing did not go smoothly. After quite a few tries and close examining of the slide bars, I noted that the end of the track that fitted into the decorative housing on both slide bars had some plastic blocking the tracks. After some careful filing with a jeweler’s file, I removed the blockages and both slide bars then went into the decorative housing without any problem.Installing the assembled frame into the door frame went very smoothly. No adjustments were needed and installing the screws was easy although a extended screw bit was needed for the screws on the screen housing side.I did not install the sill plate as the door plate was heavy aluminum with concrete underneath which would have the door place screws do any good. There was a slight gap between the bottom slide bar and the door sill which I chose to fill with silicone sealant in lieu of using the door plate.Other than having to work on the slide bars to get them to fit, I am very pleased with this screen door and would strongly recommend it with the assembly qualifications noted above.
