I live in a decent neighborhood, but I also have to deal with a third party who once lived in this house. Due to his state of mind, which has him thinking that because he's now out of prison, he can simply take this house and/or its contents, I decided to invest in these latch guard protectors to prevent him from doing so. Mind you, I am a current veteran with 12 years of service and counting, so I'm obviously a big believer in the second amendment. However, I don't really want to have to deal with the legality of lawfully claiming another man's life, so I see this product as the next best thing which could save me from resorting to my 45s. After having installed this product on all of my doors, I can tell you that the build quality is more than sufficient. It's a great fit for all 3 of my doors and seemingly any other door. It helps to improve my security exponentially, and functions just as I thought it would. This product is truly an easy thing to install, and can be done with even the most basic of carpentry skills. Overall, great value for the money, and I fully recommended it to those of us who wish to bolster the security of their households.Side Note: Having another pair of hands to hold the strike plate in place will help you find the perfect spot to place your one way security screws. Trust me, installing it too close will cause metal on metal contact, which will make closing your door significantly more difficult. Additionally, removing one way screws is a tremendous pain, so don't use power tools to install it like I did. You'll be kicking yourself later if you screw it up. During the placement procedure, have your partner hold the strike plate in place and then pull the door as close to the door jamb as possible. Once that is done, tell your partner to move the strike plate a mere 1/16th or 1/8th of an inch so as to prevent metal on metal contact. This is the best method that I've found, and I can say that it works perfectly. Additionally, having a spring-loaded center punch will be handy to help mark your pre-drill spots for the 1/8th size drill bit you should be using.

I was happy at first with this. But then, the person I got this to keep out of the rooms was still able to get in. As you can see in the picture, the wood started to come off.
