Following the included directions, this is pretty effortless to install: turn off the circuit breaker, remove old switch, connect hot, load and ground wires to the timer switch and mount by screwing it into the wall box. The Amazon listing shows it with a "Mid-Sized Screwless Wall Plate," so I assumed it came with the wall plate. It did not, necessitating a trip to the hardware store to buy one. While that costs less than one dollar, having to buy it separately was a nuisance, knocking one star off the rating. The operation of the timer is straightforward, though it would be even better if the timer included a backlight, which is a feature in other comparably-priced timer switches. In dim light, the screen is not easy to see, so I recommend setting up the timer either in daylight or bright light.

We use programmable switches for our porch light. This one was easy to install, pretty straightforward to program, and seems to work well. The light comes on and turns off based on the timer, but it's also got a manual button if light is needed outside the timers set programming.

I used to be the guy that stopped the “12:00” from flashing on the VCR and programmed the specials to record, without the user manual. This timer took me a few tries if I’m honest. Then I read the directions and it took a few more tries. In the end, the manual switch works great! Just kidding, I did get it figured out. Once I did, it has a bunch of cool features once you get it figured out. Set your timer and then throw in a randomizer. Helpful since I am using this on my front lights that are on dusk sensors. I didn’t want them to stay on all night. This solves that issue. Overall I am happy with this option. Almost like having a smart house add on without all the smart house support stuff like a hub. If the programming was easier, it would be a 5 star product.

There are a few Hard-Wired Floodlamps at the Front Corners/Eaves of my home. I've been manually turning them on/off Daily. I don't want 'Motion Sensor' Lighting ... Want PM Security Lighting ON at all times. This is a very good timer. Works well. Read the Directions. I have purchased other items from this Manufacturer ... consistently great quality. Pretty Simple to Install: TURN OFF CIRCUIT BREAKER ! ... Install as per directions ... WAIT at Least 2-minutes for the internal battery to get some 'juice' [electrical current] ... and Program according to the Directions. I was considering giving this product a '4' Star Review ... had difficulty programming it, initially. However, My large hands/fingers should not degrade the Rating Scale: I give it a SOLID 5-Stars for performance, aesthetics, and Design. It works very well, and Turns On/Off my Outdoor Pairs' of Floodlamps as Advertised ! Highly Recommend this Programmable Digital Wall/Switch Timer !

Great timer wall switch. Seems to be built better than the older one it is replacing. It was not very difficult to program or install either. Perfect for older homes where light switches do not have a neutral wire.

This timer switch is easy to install and perfect for no-neutral wire applications. The overall quality and functionality is excellent. The ability to program the timer makes it much better than any normal wall switch. Recommended.
