This isn't mind blowing or anything it does what it needs to doesn't make anything faster. Makes it so you can have 2 hook ups from 1 wire. that's it

I had a long cable and a TV and box both needed to be connected. This one solved my problem. In fact so good so I bought one extra.

Very happy with this splitter. I have 3 PCs that all share an L desk in my office, and wires get a little unmanageable at times. I decided this last time that I cleaned that I would rewire everything and fix the mess that I have to avoid kicking when I pull my chair in.While I have the modem in my office, it sits right next to my desktop tower, so I have a simple one-foot ethernet cable attaching it. For the other 2 PCs, I've had to get 10-foot-long cables to wrap around the whole desk, so I tried cutting that down with this. Now it's just a 5-foot cable to this splitter, then 2 more 5-foot cables to each PC. Then of course a power cable, but it's just a USB power, which I actually have plugged into the back of an old Smart TV, so it clearly doesn't need much power. So far so good. The speeds are just as good without it, it's just a lot cleaner. I also have a bunch of shared folders and files that I rigged up over the network connection and was worried I'd have to rewire all of that, but it seems like this didn't change any of the network paths! I have this strapped up to the back of my desk now, very happy to have cleaned up those cables finally.

Easy to use, basically just plug and play. even without the power cable, it still works with 1 connection. No issues at all.

The metal casing gives this splitter a sturdy build. It does a great job of splitting a single ethernet connection into two RJ 45 connector slots. To test it, I ran two things in parallel:• Streaming a movie in 4K resolution• Testing the connection speed on the other RJ 45 slotWhile the movie was streaming, I was able to get 900+ mbps connection speed in parallel, which is awesome. I have up to a 1 gbps fiber connection and 900+ mbps is pretty good.

The good:It is well made, in a metal enclosure, is easy to use, and powers from any USB port. USB power cable included, but without a power-block.The real story, though:This is not a "splitter", although one can of course call it a powered splitter. This is really a network switch (with the chipset inside of a network switch) with only 3 ports, delivered with a USB power cable but without a power block/supply. Priced at double the price of a 5-port switch, that has the same functionality (with more ports for devices), and typically includes a power-supply.It has a supposed "input-port" in one end (where you are expected to connect the feeder cable from for example your router), and two "output" ports where you connect your devices.BUT.. To show yourself that this is really just a switch in disguise and smaller format, simply connect your feeder cable to an "output" port, and your device to the "input" port.. The device continues to function the same (working fine), just like any standard network switch where it does not matter which port you connect your cables to. The switch simply routes traffic between the ports, without calling any of them "in" or "out".The paradox is why one would sell a "powered splitter" at multiple times the price of a similar 5-port switch, when the latter provides the same functionality and 2 additional ports, while even including a power supply? The one benefit of this splitter is the small form-factor. Easy to hide behind for example a TV and can be USB powered by typically the USB port on that TV.

It is highly recommended to have a wired home/office network instead of a wireless. The benefits are many, including reduction to high levels of microwave radiation emitted from WiFi, bluetooth and wireless tech. This was ordered for a home ethernet network that already has a router and a couple switches with cable runs to the required locations. One of the locations required a Roku to be connected, and another floating ethernet cable that an iPhone adapter connects to so that an iPhone can be used connected via ethernet and no cell/WiFi exposure. This 1-in 2-out ethernet switch is a simple inexpensive way to gain one more connection to any room. In most cases I might opt to get a 5-port ethernet switch for the potential to add a few more devices.Wired connectivity is much more robust of a connection, providing better network behavior over wireless solutions. This splitter works great for a simple “2 out of 1” scenario for adding network devices over ethernet.Like any network switch, it does require an AC power adapter to operate. There are LED status lights on the front of the splitter for easy identification of connection. This worked out perfect for the intended application.
