First I need to say that I’m very impressed with the solid design, construction and stability of this stand. It is comparable to most high end models in tolerance and weight specifications. Very snug rivets and solid legs.I would give this snare stand 4 1/2 stars if I could. That is because the adjustment of basket angle goes from flat to about 12° with nothing between. and I like about 6-8°, but I might be looking for high end pro features in a midrange price.Also any 14” snare greater than 6 1/2” high will sit quite high. This stand will not go as low as some if the basket is clamped tight. I have long monkey arms so I need a low snare stand for my thicker snares. This is not a problem for most drummers. I happen to be 6’ 5” tall so my arms hang low, even with a tall throne. The ball joint type snare stands are some of the best for tall drummers.This Mapex black snare stand has a nice offset at the angle adjust which allows for some options placing your snare in relation to the feet of the stand and how it fits in with your kick and HH pedals.Overall Mapex clearly put thought and R&D into this snare stand and I consider it a very sound investment and outstanding value.

Very nice stand,like the color too. Matches my v drum rack, using this for a 13 inch lemon electronic snare, fits nicely. Great price too!

I've been playing for over 40 years, I'm impressed. Just like the 3rd note of a chord set's the mood of its sound, a snare sets the groove. Can't speak for others, but I am especially particular about snare position because it's the most played drum of the kit. This is a very sturdy stand that provides a super solid base, it will hold up to heavy use. It's a high quality and extremely adjustable stand. It's very heavy too and will not travel around when playing. The thick metal basket has double bracing and large rivets, and a large all metal tightening wing nut that holds and the snare in rock solid position. In addition to the toothed angle adjustment a more fine tuned adjustment can be made with it's ball and socket design, its brilliant!

Ordered this not for a "snare or tom" but to hold my Maschine Drum machine. It seems to be a great piece of equipment and very well made. Its price was in my range and I am very pleased with the quality of the product. It came with the black finish and it looks good in my studio!Overall, it is a great addition and well worth the value for the money that was spent! Would recommend it to a friend!

This snare stand is great for the price, I find it holds my snare well, there’s plenty of adjustment and it does not shake or skip on the floor when playing. The angle adjustment is a ratchet which means there are only set angles you can have the snare at, this is the only thing that would not make this item 5*’s for me.

I just bought this stand by Mapex and it is a very sturdy, rock solid stand. A very well made stand. Plus, I like the fact that it is black. It was really easy to set it up with the snare. The nut that secures the snare is really easy to get it locked in.

I bought this to replace the stand that came with a Mapex meridian birch drum kit. That broke after extensive studio use. This seems very solid. The moving parts are smooth and the mechanisms seem solid, which is vital for daily usage. There is no “wobble” on the stand, either at the tripod nor on the arms that open to hold the snare. The black coating is slightly plastic-y. I imagine this coating will chip and wear, but this should hopefully be cosmetic only. I’ve had it a couple of months now and still looks new despite daily use and moving around, so it seems fairly hardy. Very impressed for the price (sub £50 when purchased). Speedy delivery too.
