Purchased this product to repair fireplace floor. Had high expectations based on the good reviews. My repair was fairly large and about 0.5in in depth—because of this, I applied in small layers multiple times over the course of a few weeks allowing time to dry in between layers. Once the repair was complete, it was approximately 2 months before we lit the first fire. (This was an off season project). After the first fire that was 3 wood logs and a creosote log, I realized it had bubbled up everywhere.Thought it may be an error oh my part in some way, however, my father also used the same product at the same time for a much smaller repair. He has the same results—bubbling despite following directions and allowing AMPLE dry time. This product is not cheap. I ended up buying multiple to complete the project only for it to end up being a complete waste of time and money.

This mortar is easy to spread. I used a spackling blade and it did quite well. I bought it to seal some minor cracks in the cement floor of my fireplace. It filled the cracks well and set up hard. I won't be using the fireplace until winter sets in, but I'm sure this will alleviate my problem. I plan to go back in a few weeks and spread some more where I may have missed very small cracks and to top off some of the larger ones that have already been filled. I am pleased with the results so far and I look forward to putting it to the test when fire season arrives.

This mortar product was easy to use with a caulking spatula. I filled in the gaps between the floor of the firebox and the rock hearth. Now there is a smooth transition and ashes won't collect there when I clean out the fireplace. Good stuff!

To seal bricks in fireplace. Followed directions. Went on easily and smoothly. Directions say no fire for 48 hours. Due to a warm spell, did not start a fire for one week. For some reason the mortar bubbled. Hard bubbles that crack when touched.

This product was used for repairing the cracked fire brick in my fireplace. Followed the instructions and it worked great. Applied 3 coats and let it sit for 24 hrs. Then you can use the fireplace. Cleans up easily I would recommend using this

Got it early, sealed and undamaged. Used it, cured it, and it frigging works. Nice stuff, saved me a bundle on replacing the whole shabang.Must sit at least 48 hours to properly dry and use slow heat fire to cure properly. Did not bubble, break or crack as reported elsewhere.
