I had to adjust my tailstock to be able to push it out even though my drill chuck would get pushed out no problem. Other than that it's decent.

I put this in a mini lathe and mounted a barrel between the headstock and this live center. I could not have used for a whole 10 min, making exceptionally light cuts, maybe 3 to 5 thou per pass. The tailstock had been indicated and was running true. After turning the barrel, it was measured and there was a +10 thou taper. This ring was worn in the live center over that period of time. Clearly the pointy end was not hardened. Maybe this item would work well for wood, but it did not work well for turning steel.
