I used them once and caught salmon first time i used them (i put it on the back of the spoon). Now why 3 stars... i find them thick, lacking curve (but they are shaugnessy which i didn't see ) small for the size mumber. I needed something like "big gun" or gamakatsu "big river"..., they are great for the price and sharp enough. I hope with some modifications i'll be able to effectively use them because they are not that bad for type of fishing i do.

to be short and simple i've yet to lose a fish I've hooked due to the hook. I had 60lbs line snap before even coming close to bending one of these hooks in Size 4. So yea these are a must when fishing in any tackle box.

Don't buy the small package, it's so much more cost effective to buy 100. I use these hooks for so many things. Great for fishing mullet or other bait for flounder, fishing crabs for redfish, sheepshead, blackfish, etc. I use them making wire king mackerel rigs. Dropping cut baits on wrecks or reefs. Any live or fresh bait situation I find myself using these. UNLESS I need a circle hook although I rarely if ever gut hook fish with them. Paying $18-20 for 100 hooks is awesome. I don't even find them to rust out easily if you just rinse them off. They're just a simple, well made bait hook.

Can't really go wrong with Mustard. Not as strong and lightweight as Gamakatsu hooks but these work great. A lot of fake branded fish hooks out right now that are made in china. Try to stay away from those as they break easily. Even though some of Mustad products are made in China they to pass on quality.

These are awesome hooks! I use them for redfish and spotted sea-trout fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. They are strong and sharp! These are my favorite bait hooks for live (or dead) shrimp on the bottom.
