I bought it, only to find too more in the basement. Aint that how it always goes kids? Well, I used this one anyway, because that's what I bought it for. Attached to a chain, hung up on a big tree limb. Use it for hanging up... well we just use it for hanging things.

It is a slip chain hook for dragging trees and limbs. I have two of these now. Wrap around a tree or what you are planning on dragging twice with the chain, then lay your chain through the hook and start pulling away and it will tighten. It works well when you are hooking up to heavy equipment as well.

Quick hook up around chain I was pulling cut down trees with my tractor

Hook seems great, I have used it multiple times on a logging winch snatch block setup. It fit my 5/16" chain choker fine and I have pulled 50 foot long oak trees with the setup using my setup with no problem.
