We are YouTube content creators, Well Travelled Life, and spend much of the year taking photographs and filming videos with our iPhone 16 Pro Max's camera. This Neewer ND density filter slides over your phone's rear lens and provides three stops of light reduction in bright environments (e.g., filming in snow, on water or in bright outdoor light. The effects of 3 stops of light reduction can make your video footage much more cinematic as it translates to a slower shutter speed or a stopped down lens. Very easy to install or remove. Recommended.

I love the lens effect but unfortunately it did not match my neewer iphone 16 pro max case that I already had! The specs on the case said it would match but on closer inspection it looks like it doesn't fit! This is more of a user error but when I've been able to look through the filter, the image quality and subdued colors are awesome! I may need to find a way to make this work! Because the filter is a great effect and I don't want to part with this just because Neewer didn't make this versatile to other series of its cases. It came in a nice package and protective case as well to carry the lens. Otherwise this would be a solid 5 stars!

When I bought this on impulse, I didn’t realize I first needed to purchase the Neewer PA074 phone cage. The cage allows you to install filters like this one, meaning you really have to dedicate your phone to photography.I initially thought this was a snap-on, standalone solution—similar to my protective filters or lens covers. I didn’t read the fine print, which was my mistake, not the manufacturer’s. Looking at the overall setup, I’d prefer to use a small digital camera like the RX100 instead or a small mirror camera. (M3 has built in ND filters)First, I can’t use any other protective filters. Second, I can’t use my own protective case for the iPhone. To use the cage and achieve the effects I want, I’d have to dedicate my iPhone to being a full-time camera.The ND filter itself looks like terrific quality, and I’d love something to help control exposure in bright conditions for smoother motion blur in my videos. If you’re looking for professional results from your iPhone, I’m sure this could be a great product. However, for me, I’m not willing to make the concessions required to turn my phone into a dedicated camera. It takes away all spontaneity—unless you’re willing to leave the cage on your phone at all times.

It is easy to use the filter since it just snaps into the Neewer phone cage. When I tested it with the sun at my back the filter did a great job filtering out harsh light and producing a pleasant warmish result. Quality of the glass is excellent. The images maintain the image quality you would expect from quality glass with no visible degradation in image quality. I do find it a little harder to slide filters onto the PA074 cage, and this one is no exception, but once in place it feels very secure.

I love that it just simply snaps into the compatible case (I use an iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the Neewer PA074. The optics quality is more than I expected for the retail price. Waterproof, multicoating.It comes with a nice plastic case and lens cloth to go.This will help make my videos more cinematic, or photos with motion blur on a tripod. (At least that's what I'm using it for).
